Default How do you feel when Bangladesh wins a match that should be a loss?

Enough of match threads, and yes I'm kinda bored.....

There are so many instances I was surprised and elated...I'll begin with the '99 WC win against Pakistan. Probably that's one of the biggest wins we've had in the earlier days...gosh still remember the joy and excitement. I had a bet with friends at school that if BD wins they'll buy me a glass(cup) of coke (those days they used to feature the WC stars like Dravid/Wasim Akram/Steve Waugh in the paper coke cups.....I remember lot of friends of mine have collected them and hence they were special ) and if Pak wins then vice versa.

Here are some of the snaps of that glorious day in our cricket....

Which of the matches do you think and describe how did you feel or rejoiced?

There are few that comes to mind.

Bangladesh vs Bermuda, 2007 WC. The rain effected WC match, was a real tricky one but thanks to Sir Ash's 20 odd something, we won. Everyone was falling except Sir Ash. Felt relieved. Because had we lost that, the victory against India would have meant nothing.

Bangladesh vs England, 2011 WC, I was just counting the number of runs reqd every minute. And when we won, I was in tears.

Bangladesh vs India, 2012 Asia Cup. All hopes were gone after Tamim's wicket. But enter Shakib, and he completely changed the momentum. From then on, I kind of had faith that Mushy would see us through. I was so ecstatic. I was watching this with a bunch of Indian friends and shouted FU on their face. Everyone patted me on my back. And the number of phone calls I received saying they'd support BD in the finals, it was exhilarating!

Bangladesh vs England, 2011 WC, I

I still remember, my dad called me at 5am AEST he was so excited first thing he said...we won! I was like what? He's like haven't you seen the match? We won against England! I was so elated and shouted at the top of my lungs half the people in my dorm floor woke up Honestly, I haven't watched the match and was too preoccupied by the Tsunami happened in Japan in the same night, which probably was thought would be affecting Australia as well...but oh boy! What a feeling after beating England

Bangladesh vs India, 2012 Asia Cup.

BD always gives heart attack literally, but this one match oh boy! Was praying so much so that all the shots played by Iceman doesn't get caught out and he remains till we get a decent total....was literally reciting dua-kalaams

Apart from above matches, my listings are as follows:

vs Kenya, 97 ICC Trophy Final. BD needed 11 runs in the last over with 2 wickets in hand. Thanks to Pilot's 6 and Shanto's last ball single run, BD won by 2 wickets.

vs SL, Tri Nations Tournament in BD, 2009. It was a high voltage match as BD needed to win this match with bonus points in order to go to Final ahead of Zim. SL scored 131 runs in 31 overs (curtailed) but BD needed to score that runs within 25 overs (if i am not mistaken). Shakib played one of the best ODI innings by Bangladeshi players ever played. He scored unbeaten 92 off 69 balls and BD chased down the target within 24 overs.

vs Eng, NatWest Series, 2010. It was 2nd ODI of the series. BD had to win the match to stay in the series. BD scored a modest 236 runs. In reply, Eng started their innings in a positive mood. They were 86/2 but suddenly middle order collapse made them to 166/7. Eng's last hope was Trott who was playing brilliantly and almost won the match single-handedly with Broad. When Eng was 10 runs short of victory, then they lost 2 quick wickets leaving BD think that they won the match but then came injured Bell to rescue English pride. Fortunately for BD, all English efforts went in vain as BD managed to win the nerve wracking match by 5 runs.

vs England, WC 2011. What a Match !!!! I was in the stadium and i almost had a heart attack. It was a MUST win game for us after 58 embarrassment against WI (i was there too). Despite friends titkari, I traveled all the way through to CTG thinking BD might upset English lions. Thanks to Shafiul's herioc 24 runs innings and Riyad's sensible batting of 21 runs, we won the match by 2 wickets.

I fractured my hand by punching a wall out of joy when we defeated Australia. Didn't even feel the pain for a while.

I eat biriyani nowadays

I do belly dance and few samba moves too with cloths on. Then i call to my parents and brothers. We shout at each other saying that 'ki bolchilam na, amrai match jitbo' ! After hour long match analysis with my family, i read each and every article of the match online. Write my emotions, expert analysis on BC. It goes for hour or so. After taking couple of minutes rest, i do dance again, this time 'bhangra' if we manage to beat India/Pakistan or techno dance if we manage to beat others. I spend almost 3-4 hours doing above things.

I do that too.
Try to find out each and every article, which at times are copied from the same source, but still read and re read them.

Interesting reading peoples ways of celebrating a win. Since most of the Bangladeshi matches happen late at night, i just shout, jump up in the air, smile and go to bed.

Had full-fledged plans to go on a drive to Melbourne city with friends and yelling Bangladesh Zindabad the whole way had we become Asia Cup Champions, never mind!

Let's hope for better outcomes in future

Can't really put it in words. Good thing is, it's not as occasional as it used to be. I do the fist pumps, the screams (scared my little boy couple of times)....
When the match is on, I remove (stop watching) myself when I feel that I'm the kufa. Jhere Jhure boshi. If I have several pages up and running or watching a show, I try to stay on those pages and on the channel. If I really had that much power it would have been awesome but just don't want to mess with the "balance" of the Universe that could affect the game.
I was there when we beat India in WC07. One of the best moments of my life. Unfortunately, didn't get to replicate it in 2011. We just did not have the fire in the belly. 2007 was all attitude.
97 win against Kenya. Following it on the radio. When BUlbul and Akram got out within 2 runs, I thought we were done for. It was a nerve recking final.

^Aww poor child...don't scare him...he's such a cute munchkin

As for 2007, tbh, I stopped watching BD cricket after 2007 and completely after the ICL issue....was so disheartened that how come we never we get to reflect that attitude from then on...started resuming watching cricket from WC2011, but then again we slipped...true....but didn't stop watching cricket. Eventually joined BC and the rest is history!
