Dont think they will. Anyway can you imagine if your top order had actyually scored, how much better our score would have been?

now if by luck ... bowling goes on to our favor (under the light) .. we may cause an upset .. I know I'm just too optimistic .. but I have trust on our bowling line up .. its just matter of picking up early wickets .. first 10-15 overs will say everything

I still believe .. w can easily make 240-250s if our top order playes their role .. if just bashar -rajin playes sensibly constantly

We made 54 in the first 25 overs and 136 in the last 25 overs. Now if only we could've made 136 in the first 25 overs as well!!! We would have a score of 272

bangladesh regular batsmen are very poor , apart from ashraful and occasionally bashar .

we might have a chance for getting one point from this match, at best. and that would be a good achievement after the start.

hmm...190/9...
i though that ash and rana were a bit too slow...they should have scored a bit more quickly...
anyways, good stuff from ashraful...i'm really impressed with this fella...he's come a long way after that first test century...
hats off to manjarul as well...
however, in the end it's the same old story...
i think it's time for us to drop a few people in the top order...maybe bring in batsmen from the under 19...but then people in the U-19 are too young to be brought into international cricket...so all we can do is sit back and witness the failure of our top order until those young guys (Nafis & co.) are mature enough.
as far as this match is concerned, i still think that a win is possible, although chances are extremely low. we will have to bowl exceptionally to acquire a victory against the best team in the competition so far.
ja hok jai khela dekhte jai...

Samiur, I hope you are wrong ! I have always believed that if pace is denied to batsmen like Jayasuria, Gilchrist etc. then some of element of rashness would creep in.
Tapash should open the bowling with Razzak [ but not Rafique ]. If Tapash does not swing the ball [ his problem is controlling it, in fact ] after two overs, then play the spinners until the 15th over.
Would we have scored 250 ? Not with this top order. I think averages in the long run do not lie.
But I still feel better now than I did two hours ago. This is the first time I have followed a Bangladesh ODI where after the 38th over they batted like any other team in the closing overs of a OD match. From 100/4 to 190/9 , i.e.at 7.5 runs per over for 12 overs is not bad against Vaas and Muralitharan.
Credit goes to Ash, Rana [ selflessness ] , Mashud played a cameo and, of course, Razzak and even the 3 ball Tapash.
Normally, I would give Bangladesh about 2% chance of winning a match [ probability ]. My gut says about 20% today on the back of this morale-boosting recovery.
Let's go at them !

I thought that under the circumstances it was a brilliant partnership. They rotated the strike well. Granted, Rana is not of the same class as Ash but you can play only upto your ability. [ I wish our top order knew that ].
Your remarks should have been directed at the 4th wicket partnership. 8 runs in 9 overs. Faisal scoring 1 off 29 balls.
Rotation ! Rotation ! Rotation !

you're right!
actually jayasuriya plays spinners quite well when he is set as are most other srilankans. but razzaq bowled well against tendulkar and ganguli who are very good players of spin. thus i hope bd should consider regularly opening with him 'cos pair of pacers for BD always gives away a lot of runs in first 15 overs.

We saw some fight
we saw some fight
we saw some fight
I guess i got what i wanted out of this match. After that terrible start, Manju and Ash actually showed us what we wanted to see, and know Bangladeshis are capable of. Think what would have happened if Javed opened.
