Hope the opener of this thread brings another dose of good luck to BD.

I think that they will drop Rakibul and Riyad, they should really give Zunaid and Shahadat a chance now.

I want to see Junaed and Shahadat instead of Raquibul and Ryad. Junaed got his biggest momentum against Pakistan as a debutant. I am also expecting to see Shahadat's firework against pakistan so he also needs to play vs Ireland. Matter fact, He is the only one who spoke to the media about getting revenge for WC loss against the Irish. So he must get a chance.

i prefer no change at this level is absolutely necessary... because players like Junaed and Shahadat and Nazimuddin are only 20 years old... they can just play stay where they are get selected, realize their golden opportunity and PERFORM

Inshallah, we should make it 3-0

give raqibul, dhiman a chance to perform, why drop players like in a flash when they were given no chance to perform...inshallah, keep same squad in pakistan tour as well except add RASEL

we should not drop players after an excellent performance...

in another words... do not drop a player unless he consistently flops in 2 consecutive matches OR stops trying and you can obviously see it, the players need to learn the VALUE of a national spot and keep it... previous example who failed to realize.. MR. Rahim(maybe he didn't fail to realize, his mindset wasn't in accord with his batting skill or the pressure was too much on him)

We have already won the series. So, its not harm or injustice to give rest to some of the players for the 3rd ODI.

report from cricketeurope after the fall of 3rd irish wkt

Ireland lose early wickets

Ireland face an uphill task if they are win the second One Day International against Bangladesh in Mirpur.

Ireland have lost two wickets in successive balls after a bright start in their pursuit of 247 for victory in the 2nd ODI.

William Porterfield and Reinhardt Strydom added 42 in the opening 10 overs, helped by a flurry of boundaries. Strydom survied two reprieves, dropped by Ashraful at mid-off on 5, Reza the unlucky bowler. The Bangladesh skipper then nearly atoned for his error, when his throw found Strydom out of his crease but narrowly missed.

The introduction of spin into the game had an immediate effect, with Strydom harshly adjudged lbw to Razzak's second delivery.

42 for 1 quickly became 47 for 3, as Eoin Morgan departed for just 4, caught at cover while attempting to hit Reza over the top. The next delivery saw Porterfield cut Reza straight to Ahmed at point to leave Ireland in deep trouble. The Gloucestershire left hander had been more positive than usual, striking 5 fours in his 33 ball score of 25.

Earlier the hosts posted a formidable 246 for 8 in their 50 overs, thanks to half centuries from Shahriara Nafees (60) and Aftab Ahmed (61).

Nafees and Tamin Iqbal (46) shared an opening stand of 94, before Iqbal was caught on the midwicket boundary by Kevin O' Brien off Kyle McCallan.

Nafees was then run out by Dave Langford-Smith with the score on 135, but Mohammad Ashraful (38) shared in a 64 run partnership with Ahmed in just 8.4 overs, to put Ireland on the defensive. Ahmed holed out to Trent Johnston on the deep midwicket boundary off Greg Thompson with the score on 199.

Dave Langford-Smith (3-43) took late wickets as Bangladesh tried to accelerate further in the closing stages. Mashrafe Mortaza hit 26 from just 16 balls as Bangladesh closed on 246 for 8, which appears more than enough to ensure a second win in the series.

We need to drop Riyad and bring back Zunaid. Raquibul should finish this series.

Quoting myself from another thread:
Quote:
I am really happy about these two wins. It's not because that we won, it's because that we could build some good partnership in both two matches.

I remember one quote from some x-player; i really can't recall the name. He used to say "Every wicket has some price. Each batsman needs to set the maximum price for his wicket. The fielding team must pay the price to get his wicket."

Our batsmen need to understand the value of their wickets and make the opponent team work hard to get them.
This is what I want to them continuing in the next game.
