Default Bangladesh v Surrey @ the Oval 9-11 May

OK - this thread may be an epic fail if we beat the Aussies but I think it is very unlikely - we will probably lose by half a run or half a wicket but we will lose for sure as we don't know how to win a match.

Anyway, if we do play this one against the Hampshire, if anyone from here care to go? The only trouble is I am totally confused about the venue. According to cricinfo its going to be at Oval, Kennington, whereas according to cricetvillage site (http://cricketvillage.blogspot.com/2...land-2010.html) its going to be at rose bowl, Southhamptom. However, according to BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cric...es/default.stm), we are not even playing Hampshire but Surrey and it will be at the Oval! I just wish there is an official Bangladesh cricket site (tigercricket site is down at the mo) to tell us the correct info.

Scorecard: http://www.cricinfo.com/england-v-ba...ch/426396.html

Well firstly Hampshire does not play in Oval. Surrey does. So BBC seems the most sensible of the sources. Although it would be nice to have a confirmation.

The Rose Bowl is in Hampshire (if we play there then we might have better weather). And The Oval is in London.

Whatever it is we won't play that match cause we would be playing the 2nd round of the WT20. Yes write it down.

The game is definitely in Oval barring T20 glory.

But I dont think its Hampshire as they are playing Somerset @ Rosebowl on 10th of May

Interesting thread.

Playing 3 days against county side is important before an English summer tour. Spending as much time as possible in the English condition is very important before test matches against the English.

So, we should not be upset if we lose against the Aussies.

Thanks Runtings. I will definitely go on the 2nd day, which is on Monday. And will try to go on Tuesday, so is anyone else from here going to watch the match?

Will be fun if we go together

ok. here we go.

would like to pick these team

imrul (he is the opener, so he is opening)
junaid (lets try him as replacement of imrul as opener)
jahurul (if junaid openes then jahurul moves to no 1)
mushfiq (he will captain the side, and bat at four as our best middle order bastman)
riadh
ashraful (i never like to comment about ashraful)
naeem
razzaq (lets see what he can offer)
shahadat (impress and grab the 3rd pacers slot)
robin (do)
rabiul (do)

rest
shakib: he has absorbed lots of physical and mental pressure, let him rest
tamim: let him recover completely
shafiul and rubel: they are first and second choice pacers, they would be doing bulk of the bowling, so also want to give them a rest and then play them in the next two warmpups

My lineup:
1.Zunaed
2.Tamim
3.Jahurul
4. Riyad
5. Naeem
6. Mushfique
7. Sakib
8. Mahbubul
9. Shahadat
10.Rubel
11.Robiul

I would keep Shafi out as he needs rest and would be the 1st choice in specialist bowler. I'd keep Razzak out as he's hopeless in longer version..I pushed Sakib down to decrease his burden and expose couple of others esp. Naeem. A 4th pacer would let all 4 to warm up. Plus Shahadat may only be useful for 5/6 overs per ininngs. Worth sacrificing Ashraful for the 4th pacer here..If you swap Sakib and Naeem, that could be the best lineup for the country in the test matches.

Definitely rest Shakib and Tamim. Let Mushfiq take the reigns. Try out Robiul. Let Rubel get a hold of what should be his ideal kind of pitch. Let's see what happens.
