In the 70s there is this Mr. Khalil Ullah, a severely mentally deranged escapee from the Pabna, I think the notorious Hemayetpur Psychritric Facilty who created a terror streak in public's minds by sneaking into mourges and local hospitals and stealing livers and other body parts from deceased just to eat and if I remember him correctly he was escalating into becoming or moving up to the next level where he was getting desparate and not finiding enough corpse was attacking weaks and sick people who couldn't fight him i guess thus he was moving onto live preys - a serial killer of necrofiliac/necromaniac ? (I am not sure about the right terms here) if I may. I remember him being caught and then what happenned to him nobody knows!

Lol, that Khalil Ullah story was just amazing. I've heard of him too...and until now I'm told that it's actually true. I wasn't born in the 70's...goes to show how long that urban legend lasted.

Dear BK Bhai

We actually grew up seeing this monster roaming around the streets of Azimpur. As most of us being kid will run away by the sight of him while playing on the street. Believe it or not he was close to 7 feet in height and had a really sportsman like physique. During that time he stopped doing the things he is famous for, generally he would go to Azimpur grave yard to get his prey. I remember we received the news of his death sometimes before leaving to Malibag.

An urban legend, urban myth, urban tale, or contemporary legend, is a form of modern folklore consisting of apocryphal stories believed by their tellers to be true. As with all folklore and mythology, the designation suggests nothing about the story's truth or falsehood, but merely that it is in circulation, exhibits variation over time, and carries some significance that motivates the community in preserving and propagating it.

I thought you were younger

That was such a bad time for our country. We still bear the legacy of that time.

If your left eye-lid jerks, you should expect to get some money!
If the right eye-lid jerks, you are definitely going to be Rath-kana very soon!

If your left palm itches, money is coming your way!
But if your right palm itches, you got hook worms (Krimis) inside of your swollen drum-like stomach! Watch out now!

I like these ones, this jomidar bari legends.... where a rupoboti chhoto rani or chhoto rajkonna was murdered (thrown into a well or 'accidentally' shot by jomidar's dui-nola bonduk).... and now she haunts the deserted jomidar bari with the 'ghunghur' sound..

hehe... damn these legends has become so cliche over time, one of these stories has to be true....
