Cricinfo says the game starts at 3:30 am EDT/1:30 pm local time.

^Oh wait nvm. It is a day-nighter but it'll start much earlier than the T20 and I'll still miss most of it.
Anyhoo,
My XI:
Tamim
Imrul
Ash
Naeem
Shak
Mush*+
Alok
Nasir
Razzak
Shafiul
Rubel
Would've liked Shuvagoto instead of Ash but he hasn't earned it and Ash played a semi-decent knock in the T20. But please no Nafees.

Imagine if we had Masri/Rasel 06 Circa bowling with 2 new balls.
It's hard to take to shine off one ball, now you have to deal with two. I don't know why Shahadat was dropped. He was the marquee bowler the past month. I would have played 3 seamers, also this shows the importance of a Medium Pacer+ all rounder.
Good thing for us that we used all the new rules in the BCB cup.

This new rule will hurt Rubel the most.
Please, let there be a Nazmul in the XI!
Tamim
Imrul
Nafees
Rahim
Shakib
Alok/Naeem/Nasir
Naeem/Nasir/Alok
Razzak
Shafiul
Rubel
Nazmul

Did they use two new balls in BCB cup? But then batting order can't be rigid in this rule...

WI will have difficulty of facing 8 bowlers (6 spinner)---- wish mushy knows how to handle and rotate bowlers

I just hope we are not bowling 2nd innings.. especially with our spin bowlers, they will have a hard time controling the ball and WI will blast them outside the park. They may not be good against spin but they do have the power to blast their way to sneak wins even against quality spin because they know the first ODI will be crucial!!

Shakib is main hope with bowling, if he does well we can hopefully restrict WI to a decent total. Pacers are too unreliable but hopefully one of them will fire

This is a good XI, wiseshah, but I am itching to include Nazmul Hossain...I think we might need three pacers, dew factor may come into play...I remember how much success the English pacemen had against us in Chittagong in dew(even though we won that match)... here is my XI+ batting Order:
1. Tamim
2. Imrul
3. Naeem
4. Mushfiq(wk)(c)
5. Shakib
6. Alok
7. Nasir
8. Shafiul
9. Razzak
10. Nazmul
11. Rubel
playing with one less batsmen. I will be happy if either my XI or the your XI gets picked...

Rubel cannot repeat the awry line and length of T20... I hate to judge harshly but it is really getting epidemic.

Here is that over per CI:
5.1
| Rubel Hossain to Simmons, no run, the batsman makes room by moving towards leg and the bowler follows him, the ball is pushed towards cover
| 5.2
| Rubel Hossain to Simmons, FOUR, length ball, smashed. Simmons lines it up and lofts over mid-on, timing it superbly
| 5.3
| Rubel Hossain to Simmons, 1 run, shorter length, Simmons waits on the back foot and pulls to the fielder at deep square leg
| Samuels to face his first ball ...
| 5.4
| Rubel Hossain to Samuels, SIX, and that is some way to get off the mark. A short ball just sits up and Samuels swivels and pulls it flat over the deep square leg boundary
| 5.5
| Rubel Hossain to Samuels, no run, Samuels makes room by moving towards leg and hits the ball from just outside off towards cover point
| 5.6
| Rubel Hossain to Samuels, SIX, he clears the backward point boundary this time. Making room to a fullish ball and carving it powerfully over the point boundary with a fierce swing of the bat

^He bounced back very nicely but I agree with Zeeshan bhai here. He cannot afford to bowl it short in these conditions. Also these West Indian batsmen are used to playing quick bowlers in their domestic leagues. So they won't be fooled by the short stuff like the Indians.

That would be perfect but sounds too good to be true. Shakib is ideal to play at 3, he is the best one day batsmen in the team and can play to all situations. He would also get to bat with Tamim more and the longer those two are at the crease the better for Bangladesh. A top five of Tamim, Imrul, Shakib, Mushy, Riyad looks very strong compared to what Bangladesh normal have. They can be followed by 2 from Nasir, Alok, Naeem etc.
I'm praying this news is true, and if it is then this may be the start of a very successful era led by Mushy, for Bangladesh.

The first six was hit off a short pitched delivery which seemed like a ploy from BD team to every new batsman facing the first ball. I saw Mushfiq signaling short ball to Rubel while the new batter was taking strike. The last six was an amazing shot...sliced of backward point.

Sorry to be disagreeing to both of you. First of all, Naeem should NEVER be batting at no.3. He's not a specialist batsman, he's a batting all-rounder. Much UNLIKE Ashraful, who is a specialist batsman and should play at no.3 or 4, if he is retained in the squad. Shakib coming in at the top is very important, I agree, but Alok Kapali, seriously? if you'd watched the T20I, you'd see he looked completely out of sorts. I don't think the star all-rounder on once upon a time can take that role anymore. And Nazmul Hossain has no attributes of a pacer. He's not tall, he's not quick, he does not swing the ball (he seams it at the best, I'm sure you know the difference), he's not accurate, and he's dismal at the death. Why should we play him, again?
Mahmudullah will be missed. He was such a value player for the side. bowls, bats and fields. Hope he gets well before the tests at least.

So the West Indies have Pollard and Roach back in the team? Anyone else....those two could make a huge difference.
Outfield should be a bit quicker today - no rain, but pitch the same? Low and slow?
