Hats off to Abul Hasan. Very well played!! We may have got a solution for our pace-bowling all-rounder position if he is nurtured properly.

I am glad that Abul proved me wrong. The selectors got one of the two right. (Let's see what Nazimuddin does in the second inning.)

The incompetent irresponsible toporder should now bowl like Abul batted...atleast Shakib should work hard to get some wickets and other "top order" should hold on to the catches...morning will be tough and I think it will be difficult to survive but hope Abul and Riyad scores few more runs especially Riyad can gets his ton

All the hats and turbans off to Abul!
Mullah played his part, too.

Every single batsmen somehow are in fault I guess...obviously FE is good but our batters after all the practices..still make the same mistake again again and again

Tomorrow morning, Riyad should try to take the strike as much as possible. If they can survive for a few overs, then Abul can slowly get into the action.

Rubel actually has much better technique than SN, Nazim, Lil Juni and Naeem.

Well done for fighting back, but this situation is nothing new to us, same thing happened vs NZ recently, had them around 280/9 and they still managed to reach 350, we came out and smashed 500 though!!, we started well but the track kind of died on us, the spinners got nothing and the pacers had no swing with the old ball, tomorrow i'm hoping we can finish things off quickly, then it will be down to the batters, anything under 400 now and we've got to be ok with that, Gayle and Samuels owe us a big score so i'm hoping they deliver, if they do then i can't see how we don't get a decent score on this track, especially if Shiv is in the mood aswell.

It looks like Tamim plays better when he plays an attacking role. I guess that the key will be to curb the stupid shots, but otherwise let his instincts take over.

Shobtai Bolod. Unfortunately, you will have to post the same over and over again for a few more years.

I think you are too harsh on Naeem. I might agree about the others!

I was completely gobsmacked by how well Abul batted. As Dilscoop said, his defence was very solid and some of his cover drives and cuts definitely put our top order to shame.
But I was also impressed by Riyad. Yes, he didn't shield much of the strike but he realised that Abul was in form and had settled into a good rhythm - so he helped catalyse it. I also liked the fact that he took a single of the last ball of the 80th over, knowing that it is likely that the new ball would be taken.

We should play at least one debutant in each Test match to save our face.

Perhaps, but Naeem has far exceeded all expectations even his own. His dismissal today confirms that. But, all the best to him, too.
