Our first Test Victory-Coming soon:Stay tuned !
I believe The Zimbabweans are coming over to Bangladesh in January for a test series as well as a Triangular ODI series…Considering we gave their full strength team a heck of a run for their money last time around…It should be a cakewalk against probably the weakest test side ever on show…I firmly believe we’ll achieve our first test victory against Zimbabwe in January,2005…Even though we never live up to our expectations at home…The current Zimbabwe side realistically is no match for us in test matches….We’ll just roll ‘em over…..Trust me……2-0 in the test series…Unless it rains of course and The Zimbabweans get lucky !!!

Every paper has been saying about the Zimbabwe series. I think now it is confirmed to be scheduled as the tri-nation will involve Zimbabwe.

We don't want to pride outrselves with a short lived win against the weak lion. Although a win is a win.
But rather, BD-fans prefer to see a consistant fight against team like Pakistan, WI, NZ, ENG...etc and possible win. Thats the goal we're trying to acheive.

at first...we need a test win. against whoever. zimbabwe is most welcome to be our first victim
unless our players fold under pressure again, we should win both tests.

The team needs to concentrate on the home series and especially test matches. If we are going to win a test series it is good to start at home for several reasons. So my effort if I were a coach would be to divert all energy to "plan" for the New Zealand matches. New Zealand are a tough team but they have weaknesses that can be capitalised on. The Zimbabwe matches are later and should'nt be prioritised over test matches.

Agreed. We just don't want to win only one test match, we want to whitewash Zimbabwe in the test and the ODI series.
And for that to happen, we need to gain some confidence before January, which is 1 test match win against either New Zealand/Sri Lanka/India or 1 ODI match win against either New Zealand/Sri Lanka at home.
Otherwise, we're gonna face another Canada-World Cup 2003 tragedy in January when everybody will tell us that we should win against the new Zimbabwe team, and all we'll be doing is ending up with losing. We don't want that to happen.

yeah, the pressure's on us again. but it really is doable if we can keep your cool.
speaking of building confidence....i would like to see BD put up tough fights in all tests and ODIs against india, NZ, and srilanka. if we can do that on your home turf, i'm pretty sure we'll be able to sneak in a win or two.

We need win but not a small win we need big win
if we win in against strong team it is good for us but not a weak side
right?

wel.. i am confused.
because ZIM wil play tests again if n only if they solve their crisis before the time of the series... (ICC condition i think)
and in that case.. they will play with their preivous team.. not the new weaker one!
so if BD wants to win both tests.. they hav to work quite hard for it... even thogh its ZIM.. n its not probably gonna be very easy wins too.

this new zimbabwe team is stronger than that 1-man canada team. it wont be that easy as beating canada or namibia.
this new zimbabwe team gave sri lanka a scare in the 1st, 4th and 5th odi. 1st odi- lost by only 12 runs, 4th odi - sl managed only 223/9 and 5th odi - lost by only 25 runs. this new zimteam has some good players like taibu, hondo, taylor, vermeulen, panyangara.
