Old DOHS Champion
In their first endeavor, OLD DOHS became champion of the Premier League. This is an outstanding achievement. Akram played another good knock. I am very happy.

This is an awesome news. It goes to show what money can do in BD. I lived in Banani and played in old DOHS, infact I played couple of 2nd division mathces for old DOHS back in 92/93 with Hasibul Hossain Shanto who was a rising player and 10 times better then me.
DOHS always use to fail going pass the first round in 2nd division even after spending lotta money. For the last few years ever since Coco bhai (current BD cricket development borad president and the 2nd son of Zia) took charge old DOHS has blossomed. They spent more money then ever and now they are getting the outcomes.
I think old DOHS deserves to do good, not because of the money they spent, but because the love for sports they posses. They probably are one of the few places in Dhaka where you get almost all the facilities as a plyer, mostly as a criketer, and also lot of encouragement from people that live their. It's just a good club or a neighborhood to live in if you are sport lover.
My life is full of fond memories from old DOHS. I wish them all the best!!

On this day of Old DOHS's glory, let us remember those who started this club and nurtured the dream for a long long time.....Saeem, Raja, Sohel, Rinku, Naeem, Sentoo and many others. This one's for you guys. Enjoy.

Congratulation OLD DOHS. As I also lived in DOHS briefly.
However if the following story is true, then its not good at all for our cricket community.
1. "Brothers Union's cricket manager Amin Khan was made persona-non-grata at cricket grounds for one year by match referee Shiper Ahmed yesterday for physically assaulting umpire Mahbubur Rahman during the club's Premier League match against Old DOHS on Wednesday." -- Daily Star
2. "According to cricketers involved in the match, newcomers DOHS enjoyed blatant favours from Mahbub which enabled them to win the game and lift the league title with one fixture left.
Eyewitnesses at the Fatullah Stadium said that DOHS had apparently lost the game when last man Shahadat Hossain Rajib was clean bowled by Brother's former Indian international Thiru Kumaran. But as Rajib was heading back to the pavilion, umpire Mahbub suddenly changed his mind and signalled a no-ball and called the batsman back.
The ruling enabled DOHS to complete a nervy victory as captain Akram Khan batting at the other end hit the winning runs."--Daily Star

So did the umpire really gave a late decision on the no ball? Any foul play be the umpire should also be looked at along with the players.
