Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard to play for Dhaka Gladiators


West Indian top order batsman Chris Gayle and allrounder Kieron Pollard have confirmed their availability for Bangladesh Premier League 2013. The duo will be seen in action for the defending champions Dhaka Gladiators from the semi-final stage of the tournament.


Both Gayle and Pollard were in the Golden Category of the foreign players’ list and were bought by the Gladiators for the base price. The Windies cricketers will fly to Dhaka on February 14 through Singapore Airlines and is expected to reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2050 hours.

What the heck? They should've gone to another team. Taka Gladiators have too many star players. I'm not liking this. Feel sorry for the players who'll miss out. Yet another one sided final then.

You gotta give it to DG owners.
Despite all the payment fiasco, they have managed to pull one big international name after another.
Gayle and Pollard coming back in BPL would be a huge endorsement.

If DG win this year too and end up going to Champions League, they would pose some serious threat to other teams for sure, even if the likes of Gayle and Pollard opts for IPL/Carribean team should their respective team qualifies.

If these really happens in league games, no wonder this also happens in international matches... there are huge number of bidders in every match so no surprise if they supply the money for and against. Though this match fixing happens in less than 5% of the matches but it is alarming for the future..
I remember last time in bpl mash told that he was approached by match fixers and that was hot news all around and hit the reputation of bpl, so this time they were told may be not to disclose these to media..
This makes me remember of wrestling games, it takes a lot of time for some people to finally understand they are actually acting...
