I think there are three loosers in this affair. The first looser is WCB for preparing this atrocious pitch. They have not learned the lessons from the humiliattion they suffered for creating a unplayable pitch not a long time ego and game was eventually scrapped. Second looser is BCB whichthe sent five national players to play yet at least three of them did not show up. They should have sent budding youngsters instead. The third looser is of course the BD team. They will never learn to be boring batsmen. It may come as a shock but as many as six batsmen had a strike rate over 50 in thier first innings and they bearly batted for 39overs! I think the match was lost in that innings. Only winner is the WI-A. Congratulations for squeezing out a tight one. They will learn from this experience.

Good practise.. I am glad that even fan like us are now getting upset with a defeat against WI side when not too long ago, we wouldnt have even dreamt of such thinking..
The kids came too close that no team can really say that they dominated... BD team has come a long way and playing some good cricket. The seamers and spinners getting wickets but batting remains as bleak as it has been all along barring that magical Nasir+Momin moment..
For ODIs, I think BD will have an edge because they are now well acclimated and are more experienced in that format. I hope to see atleast some of the national players making impressions of their maturity over WI side. We badly need reserve players of Jahirul, Robiul, Shubho etc. to be in groove with less than a month remaining for the next series..

I was disheartened this morning; and more so as I was reading the posts of depression (no disrespect intended, at least you guys had the voice, I lost mine). Then just now, I was reading CI report, and I can now really say that a) I am happy the way BD fought. b) The bowlers were brave and did a good job and almost had WI at the end.
The line from CI that caught me was " With 14 still needed, No. 11 Pascal hit a six and a four to take West Indies to victory with Narine unbeaten on 26. "
WI took a gamble, and it payed off with #11 throwing everything on the line. It really could have gone either way. I would say it should be a moral victory for us.
Please cheer up and I hope the team will take this loss in stride and show us their true mettle over and over again.

It was a close game, the national players failed except Shuvo, hence we lost.

In matches like these, the result is quite insignificant. Rather the performance of the potential national team players were much more important. We lack a top quality first class structure, so it only via the heat of A team/academy team series that we can judge how hard the iron has become.
I have not been able to follow the series closely, but few performances did attract me. I would have loved to see Anamul in this series though, but I guess it's a good thing in a way, that despite scoring zillion of runs, you just can walk into A team/National team, if only we had such a system when Ashraful was growing up :P

Yep, they fought well. Windies had quite a decent team, though the only thing that disappointed me was Jahurul's shitty performance Junaid once again disappointed, he is so much better than this.

That's one to way to look at it. Shuvo's bowling was good, but I don't see a place for him in the national team unless he ups it a notch. Nasir was intruguing and Hom disappointed. They are young and hopefully will continue to improve.
