Taskin, Sabbir and Likhon are still a few years away from being good Internation players.

Two bad spell against zim undermines everything good he did in a whole year where he was easily our best ODI pacer overall? Funny.. Luckily mash supported al amin..

Should have included Jubair. According to a newspaper, Haturi wanted Jubair and had long discussions with the selectors. I think Jubair would have been terrific in that condition.
Mushtaq did it for Pakistan back in 92. Hope his exclusion doesn't prove to be costly. Besides that I love this squad.

Pleased with the squad. They chose the 4 pacers I wanted. I would play Mushy at 3 in order to fit both Nasir and Sabbir in.
1. Tamim
2. Anamul
3. Mushy
4. Riyad
5. Shakib
6. Nasir
7. Sabbir
8. Mashrafe
9. Al Amin
10. Rubel
11. Taskin

The next challenge is obviously the training camp and warm-up matches. If we can arrange some matches in Australia with their Academy/A team prior to the world cup warm up matches against Ireland and Pakistan that would be the ideal preparation.

Also, in the press conference, Naeem Islam's name was mentioned once by faruq(the fact that he has scored 8 odd fifties) so this shows that Naeem should prepare himself for a recall perhaps in the next test series or so. This shows that Naeem Islam is in the minds of selectors.
Faruq also mentioned how Mominul is out of form in the recent domestic matches. but they considered his overall experience and also his contributions with the bat in the last few months. I like how the selectors took a holistic approach to things as opposed to a narrow minded one.

Perhaps one can argue that the Selectors had a long term plan to prepare certain players for the world cup but it didn't work out since the players didn't perform up to par: These players are
* Shamsur Rahman
* Ziaur Rahman
* Imrul Kayes

Selectors reasoned that another downfall for Razzak was cos of his fielding.

I am thinking of an interesting playing 11. As there are too many all rounders so why not 8 Batsman?
1. Tamim
2. Anamul
3. Soumya
4. Riyad
5. Shakib
6.Mushy
7. Nasir
8. Sabbir
9. Mashrafe
10. Al Amin
11. Taskin
How is the team?

The selectors have done a lot of calculations in picking Soumya's number for the next round of roulette (WC). Its their idea of a calculated gamble. But again, is there such a thing as a calculated gamble?

Remember that old saying "Always aim for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars".

This isn't fairytales and bs inspiration. As a sportsperson you need to be realistic. Yes in terms of personal goals aim high but as team performance you have to always be realistic. And i liked this approach alot from the selectors. It shows the amount of planning that has went into the lineup.
We need to guarantee that we beat Afghanistan and Scotland. Its an absolute must. You can also say that beating England is a must. They are srsly a bad team atm. And also we are playing them on a pitch like Adelaide where our spinners can take real good advantage of. Win these 3 matches then we are already in contention for the next round.
The other teams left is NZ, Australia and Sri Lanka. Beating Australia is out of the equation and i wouldn't waste resources on trying to spend too much time on strategising ways to beat them. That leaves us with SL and NZ. We likely going to lose these games however NZ can be shakey despite it being home conditions however SL have a very good record at the MCG. In saying that potential wise we can beat these teams.
The management need to make sure lot of strategic planning goes into the SL and NZ games. Even if we dont win the main focus should be to lose by as little as possible because we all know how NRR can be so crucial. Lets not forget despite how poorly BD played in the last world cup we were actually so close to to qualifying for the next round hadn't it been for our NRR.

Yeah, what's up with that? Just because he's not a spin all rounder, categorized as "pace" all rounder who bats at 3, doesn't make him the next Kallis. For all I know he could the next Feza. I don't like his selection. I too think he'll be a bust. Hope we're wrong but unlikely...
