Rubbish? Not really

They are actually quality LOI players but just look at the ease at which they are scoring runs after runs. It shows that there is a still a lot of lackings in our bowling/fielding department.

your posts are getting ridiculously confusing, mhram. So, Bd has quality spinners, then??. Yes, Bd doesnt have any LHB, tho, our number eleven got a test ton batting left handed. And, why is it sickening playing two SLAs but two pacers or Offies not?!

The thing is, out of those 50 odd SLAs, we only have a handful of quality left arm spinners from which only one has had decent performance in test level. Gazi has been fairly successful in Tests as well.

BTW, about the sickening thing. The fact that it becomes seriously one-dimensional at times. And since the problem begins from the grass-root levels means that it will go onto haunt our local batsman. Why Local batsman? Since they are facing too many left armers, they are ill prepared to face quality seam bowling and so on. Why was it that our A team failed miserably in the England tour despite the team having boasted players with plenty of international experience. And its not that 1 or 2 teams go in with 2 SLAs, every single team at almost every domestic format seems to field atleast 2/3 Left arm spinners in every match. BTW, about Offies, there is barely much in the country. And as for pacers, its a must to have ATLEAST 2 pacers in your side and for tests ideally 3 of them.

IMO, we need more variation in the bowling attack starting from the domestics. Domestic side needs to concentrate more on offies and pace bowlers for the time being. This is my personal opinion.

Mushy have been batting ridiculously well in the domestics

I wish we can see this consistency in the international level as well. That innings in the 1st ODI and only T20 against NZ showed that he is more than a capable batsman. alhamdulillah

Ameen to that! Wonder why BD thinktank or others not thinking this way for the last 20 years or so! ...kdpp

Enamul Haq, Arafat Sunny, Saqlain Sajib, Mosharraf, Taijul or Nayeem Jnr are all quality, IMNSHO.

Then we have Sabbir, Noor, Sanjamul, Tanvir, Mahmudul who all have done well at age group levels. Quality there, too.

Congrats to Gazi Tank. Far and away the best team in the DPL. They ended up being just too strong for the rest.

Best national rejects and the ones who have a chance to make the next ODI team were Imrul, Raqibul, Farhad Reza, Enamul, Elias and Arafat. Although it could be a bit tough for Imrul and Raqibul to make it since Riyad, Naeem and Mominul solidified their spots. Anamul's the only weak link in the batting unit so perhaps one of them could make it ahead of him. Whether we like Farhad Reza or not, he's 1 of our best if not the best and only pace all rounders which will always have him in consideration for the T20I and ODI teams. He could beat out Zia with these stats backing him. The spinners will have a tough time though they no doubt give competition now to Razzak.

Best new players from this DPL were, Saikat Ali, Abdul Mazid, Taibur Rahman, Taijul Islam and Shabbir(bowling only). Shabbir bowling wise could have made a strong case but he still has a ways to go with his batting. All these players should without a doubt make the next Academy/A team tour.

very happy to see the captain & the VC of national team scoring runs and helping their teams to win.
This must be Ryad's best achievement in domestic cricket.
Mushy's consistency and his strike rate has been amazing, he has improved a lot on his strike rate, he used to be on the slower side before.
Kaedge is in very good form, but his SR is still a concern, Rock has also improved his strike rate.
I would want to see KAedge in the ODI squad vs Srl , the opening pair for all 3 matches should be Tamim-Shamsu but in case any of them is unable to play I would like KAedge to come in.

^I was thinking the exact same thing. Isn't that Nazmul at the back in the Prothom Alo picture? Good to see him on the road to recovery. Hope he can start playing soon.
