US basketball
Lost to Puerto Rico by 79 - 92. This is just shamful from the multi-million dollar sports 'superstars'. Always wondered why sports plays sooo much to any of these players. Baseball is the same way, USA is not even playing and the US championship is called the world series, what world?
The overpaid, drugged up (apparantly drug use among them is widespread) players failed to qualify for the olympics.

Are you serious the USA didnt qualify for baseball. Yeah agreed that the World series is a joke. The cubans are the best in the world along with Japan. You dont see the English Premier League being called the World Premier League. Tipical USA to think they are better

I guess most of them are tired after such an intense "world championship" (NBA play playoff :P).

Yep I was surprised too. By the way, I thought PR was technically a part of the USA. How come they are competing as an olympic nation?

Here is little info
At the end of the Spanish-American War, Puerto Rico became a possession of the United States subject only to the rights that the US was willing to grant it.
They don’t get to vote or even pay taxes as well. As you can see, they can represent Puerto Rico as their own country in any sports competition. I guess they just like it this way.

USA were not the same potent force as they were in previous Olympics...which could imply their reign in the Olympics coming to an end...which is good as we would see something different for a change.
