I came across this amazing organization called, believers bail out. They are trying to help muslims from low income background who are stuck in prison awaiting trial because they can’t afford to pay bail. I am sharing this article here, if anyone is interested in giving zakah or sadaqah. A lot of people might wonder, why would you want to help criminals. Read the article, you will understand.

Thanks for Sharing this link Ajfar. a lot of people unfortunately, end up in Jail for crimes they either did not commit or they were discriminated against, which is very sad.

Day One complete Allhamdullilah. It was more or less ok due to cooler weather.

For me the best way to open fast is dates and cold milk.

These parathas and pakoras at sehri and iftar doesn't really help anyone. Most of the people have issues with thirst and not hunger I think.

May Allah forgive me for I sinned and lied to my mom (RIP).

Back in the mid 80s when Ershad was in power, during the months of Ramadan he made a law for all the restaurants in Dhaka to stay closed during fasting hours (day time.
I knew two (2) Biriyani restaurants where I frequented almost everyday during day time - Continental Biriyani House at Moghbazar Mor and Oriental Biriayni Parlor on New Circular Road between Moghbazar and Mouchak Market - and they would leave their rear entrance opens for selective customers. I would go to either one of those places most afternoons and eat a whole spicy chicken roast and double kacchi biriyani or a double Murag pulau! And I would tell my mom that I am fasting and going to the mosque for Zuhr prayer. When I would return home, I would be so full that I would n't be able to eat much Iftar.

I made both Chicken and Beef skewer for yesterday's Iftar. Not the best idea to bake it in the oven. Chicken turned out good, but wife & mom didn't like the beef much.

One week of Ramadan done Allhamdullilah. Hope you all are carrying on well.

I have done 2 iftars at our local mosque. It’s a nice experience at my local. The biryani they serve for iftari was nice. Not many touch the fruit platter.

Biriany after roja is no good for me.

I would rather have my Piaju and chola followed by plain food... something like plain bhaat daal lau chingri and either murgi or goru cooked with less spice and lots of jhool, followed by fruits.

What is a greater sin for an able body muslim than not fasting on the month of Ramadan?

Not fasting, fine - but eating lunch in front of a Roojadar muslim??
Even greater sin is eat lunch cooked by a fasting muslim and complaining about lack of noon in the Torkari or to say, "Bhai arektu Jhool den..."
And even greater sin is to release the ghee and spice , onion soaked burp on a pious muslim face after eating a lunch and say...'ooofff khub besi keye felechi...Ekhon ekebarey Hai Pai dicchi...!"

I pray everyone remains safe this Ramadan. Every year this month, terrorist attacks increase.

This yr I am using mustard sauce on my boot-chola-muri instead of mustard oil.
Can anyone tell me if mustrd oil is actually bad for health? the mustard oil I buy from Indian shops is for "external use" and not to be used as a food item.

Yes, you are right about mustard oil from Asian groceries. But, in crowded metropolis areas you should be able to find the Radhuni brand which I use. It is edible.
