Who makes these retarded team selections?
In what parallel universe is Soumya a better T20 batsman than Sabbir? Performance wise Sabbir must be one of our better batsmen in this format and he gets dropped while Soumya is in the team, this isn't the first time we saw such crazy team selections, Abul Hasan was not in the squad but comes in as replacement and goes straight into the first XI. There doesn't seem to be any logic behind these selections

Under hathuru it was
Selectors select the squad with coach
Coach selects the team
We don't have a coach so am guessing Walsh with input from Shakib
Edit:
'Hassan is known to be present during team meetings on the eve of crucial matches; he makes selection decisions even after the selectors have submitted their team. Hassan had given Chandika Hathurusingha a lot of freedom as head coach'
Also people who keep saying shakib selects the team, just be forgetting that we have an interim head coach

Sakib, the captain, make the final team selection... unless you still think Haturu is still making the team selection from SL/WI.

SS and Shabbir are interchangeable. So I don't mind if one plays for the other. duita lau duita i kodu. duitai high quality chagol.
but Abul/Miraz/Mosa should not play in T20. They are just not right for this format.

I am struggling to think of a format Abul is good for.

I think it’s more the development of the talent rather than the talent, the talent is there. Sabbir, soumya, liton, taskin, mehedi, fizz, as far as natural gifts they’ve got it as good as anyone but they just don’t seem to be improving, it’s got to be the mental side of things and there are plenty of areas in the mental side of things like professionalism, motivation, attitude, focus, determination etc.
I mean tamim, shakib and mushy have stepped up BD cricket but they could still be improving and be even better but I’m not sure they will, they seem content where they are.

Soumya's avg since 2017 - 19
Sabbir's avg since 2017 - 18
Soumya can bowl occasionally, Sabbir cannot. Soumya is a better fielder. And lastly, Soumya isnt a child beater, nor was he suspended for bringing a girl to his hotel room.
They are both absolute crap, so I don't understand how you can say Sabbir is a better T20 batsman. That's nonsense. He's awful in every format and shouldn't be anywhere near the team.

Sabbir scored 77 against India in the Niddas Trophy final and 2018 average of Sabbir is 20 while Sarkar has 13. He can bowl but I don't think we can consider him a bowler if his r.p.o is over 12 in T20.

It's Shakib, he likes Sarkar.
I say it's time we drop Sarkar for good from the national team and Liton Das from Limited Overs and bring in younger guys like Shanto (top scorer in DPL) and give them a chance. Liton can't have one performance carry him for the next 2 or 3 games.

when you only look at 2018, that's a sample size of 8 innings. That's not a good indicator of anything. That 77 he had was his first 50+ innings in 2 years. He's a terrible player and an even worse person. Soumya needs to go too, but only after Sabbir.

8 innings and 9 innings in Sarkar's case. These are a lot in T20's. and also is vital in pointing towards a player's form. It's more than last year's T20 games for us as well. Also, it's nonsense about 50+ innings when he has only played 40 matches. He also has scored 80 against Sri Lanka previously in 2016.

Sabbir averages the highest among the Bangladeshi batsmen with 20 plus innings in the T20Is . This is the only format he has done well. He should bat at no.3 where he has done relatively better.

This Bulbul analysis may be a little over the top but for one thing he is fully correct,

Rubel Hossain has played 25 test matches, not one, not two or three but TWENTY FIVE and he averages a mighty 79 in test cricket with a strike rate of 120
And what does the selectors do? Give him a spot in the test squad over younger guys with some potential, whoever is in charge of selecting the team needs to be sacked immediately

What is this mad obsession with Shafiul?? He doesnt look fit enough to be a drinks boy and the selectors expect him to bowl long spells during a Test match.
He might do well in domestics but thats where is maximum potential is

SS mama, I genuinely believe coach Walsh - BCB directors and big boss-ke weekly Dawath diye khawai at his house in Dhaka!~.
Jerk chicken, Caribbean food, Plantain, boiled cabbage with Manijuata, fish curry, Murgar roast...this is how and why!

Walsh gonna ask Shafiul where to get some Ackee and Saltfish today.
Of course Shafiul will know the place to get them
