Default BD\'s possible 5th bowler for 2nd test

Looking at the wicket and the success of Tapash.. it seems on this wicket mideum pacers would do fine job..
Faster bowlers being cut off their sharpness .. Masree is understandably less effective.. except only when the ball is newer.. thats as much as the pitch allows him to do.

Aftab could be tried for a few overs.. as he is a fair-enough bowler too.

We also got Spinner options like Ash/Rajin..

Bashar might need to use those options.. as the track is too very flat and so many overs r to be bowled in each innings.

I was thinking about Ashraful as well. He did manage to get some prodigious turn during the Chittagong test against the Indians. I'm surprised how reluctant our captains are to use Ash (and Kapali back in Sujon's era).

Aftab will become another Sujon if he balls in the test cricket. U know Sujon's bowling was poor in the test cricket except one match against Pakistan in Multan. Aftab should bowl in ODI only.

Yes Ash is also another option in spin...but Rafiq/Jr. r doing the job pretty tight.
Aftab is probably cud bring bit more variation in the intermediate overs as a 5th bowler..

Hmm i always see Ashraful as a breakthrough bowler, yeah maybe he could be tried once in a while. As for Aftab Ahmed i dont think so.

There was 90+ overs and we used only 4 bowlers. Out of which, Mashrafe was more or less ineffective, two bowlers (tapash and Rafique) just recovered from injury and may not be 100% fit.

Considering all these factors, I hoped they would try a fifth bowler in the game to keep every one fresh for the rest of the game. If not Aftab, I atleast hoped they would use Ash and/or Rajin for a few overs.

Hmm... when watching todays play.. and seeing the frustraring flat effect of BD bowling on ZIM's .. the thought of an effective 5th bowler came to my mind... and Afteb seemed like a good choice.. as it seemed to be a good track for mid-pacers to bowl.
But we got other choices like Ash/Rajin also..

I better re-name this thread for discussing about possible 5th bowler

With 2 Left Arm Spinner, I wud think Rajin will make more impact with his off-spin than Ash but then hey we will never know if Sumon doesnt use them. They shud at least bowl 5/6 over between them. May be just before lunch/tea or something.

I think Aftab would be an option for Bashar on the second innings when the pitch is will slow down and the cracks will open up more. Aftab's gentle medium pace will work better on that condition, plus he can also seam the ball.
For this inning I agree with BD Tigers on using Rajin for a change. This will make the Zim players to play both type of spins and might create some discomfort.
