India won the toss and elected to bat. Correct decision.
If India can score 280 or above, it will be very tough for AUS to chase it down, given Indian's bowling strength.

V Kohli explains why it is a no brainer to bat first: scoreboard pressure matters!
Quote:
10.03am Toss time: "India win the toss - opt to bat. Kohli says, "good track, but it's a used surface, so best conditions to bat and put runs on the board. The bowling attack can get into the attack in the second half. The batsmen chasing will be wary, and scoreboard pressure may count. It's been overcast everywhere, but today it's sunny, so no brainer to bat first. We think the pitch will play nicely. At the Oval, when the sun is out, you invariably bat first.

Today they may lose if they cannot bundle out IND below 250.

Finch would have batted first too. These are real cricket teams - not afraid of batting and posting a score:

"I would have batted first, same reasons as Virat," says Finch.

Dual paced, dual bounce, no swing, and might assist spinners.

Anything above 300 and Aussies will struggle.

Flat pitch, short boundaries, 100 open partnership, strong batting opposition, wayward bowling, what are they waiting for.

Surprise to see IND opted to field first in this mickey mouse Ground. Maybe They thought they can't chase as they were unable to do so in 2015 WC
