We definitely missed Al Amin. Rubel and Taskin were ineffective to say the least. They failed to trouble any of the top order batsmen at all and got mostly got the middle order and lower order batsmen when they were just under huge pressure. Specially Rubel over Al Amin makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

Also having both Imrul and Soumya did not make any sense to me. Drop one of them and bring in Mosaddek! This is the time to get this guy some int match experience.

Seems like Tamim, Riyad, Shakib and Mash are solid even after the long break. Just 4 of these can win us the game. Hope they keep on performing!

At the moment, the team management is likely to persist with Soumya. However, if he doesn't mend his ways soon, he might have to take a step back and play the role that the other openers in the team, the likes of Imrul and Anamul Haque, have been playing for so long: knocking at the national door.

Completely disagree, Al Amin would be blasted in death overs and not once has he performed well in death overs. Those 3 overs by Rubel and Taskin saved the match for us. And Taskin created chance in his first over, it was dropped by KaEdge.

Totally agree there, especially when we are playing at home.

As per the news reports, management wanted to be cautious in the first match, thus both Imrul and Soumya has been selected. From what we have seen yesterday, it was not the Afghan pacers that troubled us, but Afghan spinners who slowed us down when it was time to accelerate. Selecting a better player of spin ie Mosaddek should be no brainer for the next match.

Yeah, Mosaddek Hossain should definitely get a debut in the next match and also, He should also get a Test Debut no matter what. I think He is our Joe Root 2.0(after Mominul of course )...there I said it!

Imagine Mosaddek and Mominul grinding it out in tests....what a sight to behold.

^^ Rifat, that's a prime example of overhyping a player. It looks outright silly when you make such comparison or comment how great a player will be without watching him for a single good innings. First lets watch him in couple of ODIs.

In that T20 outing even though it was an ok innings, he looked technically solid and compact batsmen with a lot of maturity. England's Haseeb Hameed is a batsmen of similar mold to Mosaddek.

I find it very very strange that Hamid Hassan and Shapoor Zadran was dropped, I think if they were included Afghanistan probably would have restricted Bangladesh to a lower total.

BD dodged a bullet last night. Afghans came here to prove something. Very determined side with few concerns. We needed the jolt. This one should be another tough contest if the Afghans can improve the fielding.
