দীপ দাশগুপ্ত: বাংলাদেশকে টেস্ট ক্রিকেটে সাবালক করল মুশফিকুররা

বাংলাদেশ ওদের তেরো বছরের টেস্ট ইতিহাসে কয়েকটা ম্যাচ জিতেছে। দেশে এমনকী বিদেশেও সিরিজ জিতেছে। কিন্তু আমার মতে গল-য়েই বাংলাদেশ টেস্ট ক্রিকেটে সত্যিকারের সাবালক হল। তার জন্য ওদের টেস্ট খেলার প্ল্যাটিনাম জুবিলি পেরিয়ে আসতে হয়েছে। মানে শ্রীলঙ্কার বিরুদ্ধে চলতি ম্যাচটা বাংলাদেশের ৭৬তম টেস্ট। মহম্মদ আশরাফুলের ১৯০, অধিনায়ক মুশফিকুর রহিমের ২০০ (যেটা বাংলাদেশের টেস্ট ইতিহাসেই প্রথম ডাবল সেঞ্চুরি) আর নাসির হোসেনের ১০০-র দাপটে শ্রীলঙ্কার ৫৭০-৪ ডিক্লেয়ারের দুর্ধর্ষ জবাব দিল বাংলাদেশ ৬৩৮ তুলে। দ্বিতীয় ইনিংসে শ্রীলঙ্কা ফের ১১৬-১ করায় মঙ্গলবার শেষ দিন ম্যাচ হয়তো নিষ্প্রাণ ড্র-ই হবে। তবে সোমবারটা বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেট ইতিহাসে স্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকছে।
এক দিনে অনেকগুলো রেকর্ড করল বাংলাদেশের ব্যাটসম্যানরা। সর্বোচ্চ রানের ইনিংস। সর্বোচ্চ রানের পার্টনারশিপ। টেস্টে প্রথম ডাবল সেঞ্চুরি। এক ইনিংসে তিনটে সেঞ্চুরি। ইদানীং ক্রিকেটের কাজে অনেক বার বাংলাদেশে যাওয়ার অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে বলতে পারি, মুশফিকুরদের এমন ফাটাফাটি পারফরম্যান্সে আমি খুব একটা অবাক নই। বিশ্বকাপের পর থেকে গত বছর দেড়েক বাংলাদেশের খেলায় অনেক ধারাবাহিকতা এসেছে। শ্রীলঙ্কা সিরিজের আগের সিরিজেই ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজের বিরুদ্ধে টেস্টে ওরা সাড়ে পাঁচশো তুলেছে। পাঁচ ম্যাচের ওয়ান ডে সিরিজে প্রথম দু’টো ম্যাচে ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজকে হারিয়েছিল। গলের পারফরম্যান্সটা তাই ফ্লুক নয়। তা ছাড়া তামিম ইকবাল আর সাকিব আল হাসানের মতো দু’জন তারকা ক্রিকেটারকে ছাড়া বাংলাদেশের ছ’শো তোলা আরও বেশি কৃতিত্বের। শ্রীলঙ্কার বোলিং অ্যাটাকও সেরা ছিল। কুলশেখরা, হেরাথ, মেন্ডিস, ম্যাথেউজ এটাই এখন ওদের সেরা বোলিং কম্বিনেশন।

দুটো ব্যাপার ওপার বাংলার ক্রিকেটে ঘেরাফেরা করে বুঝেছি।
এক) খেলাটাকে ওরা গোটা দেশে ছড়িয়ে দিতে পেরেছে। আগের মতো আর ঢাকা আর চট্টগ্রাম কেন্দ্রিক নেই। টেস্ট, ওয়ান ডে, টি-টোয়েন্টি, মেয়েদের ক্রিকেট, অনূর্ধ্ব উনিশ, সতেরো সব ধরনের ফর্ম্যাট মিলিয়ে এই মুহূর্তে অন্তত দশটা আন্তর্জাতিক ‘ভেনু’ অতটুকু দেশ বাংলাদেশে।
দুই) ক্রিকেট পরিকাঠামোয় বিরাট উন্নতি করেছে ওরা। ওদের দেশের তামিম, সাকিব, আশরাফুল, মুশফিকুরের মতো তারকা প্লেয়ারদের ‘আইডল’ করে প্রচুর বাংলাদেশি বাচ্চা ছেলে ক্রিকেটে আসছে ইদানীং। আর ভাল পরিকাঠামো থাকায় ওদের পক্ষে সম্ভব হচ্ছে ভাল ভাবে খেলাটা শেখাও। অদূর ভবিষ্যতে ওপার বাংলায় আরও অনেক মুশফিকুর, সাকিবদের দেখা গেলে অবাক হব না।
মুশফিকুর ক্যাপ্টেন হওয়ার পরে দলে অনেক পরিবর্তন এসেছে। ওর সবচেয়ে বড় গুণ, লড়াকু অধিনায়ক আর সামনে থেকে নেতৃত্ব দেয়। মনে আছে, গত বছর সচিনের একশোতম আন্তর্জাতিক সেঞ্চুরি ম্যাচে বাংলাদেশের কাছে হেরে এশিয়া কাপ থেকে ছিটকে গিয়েছিল ভারত। ওই ম্যাচেও চাপের মুখে প্রায় দুশো স্ট্রাইক রেট রেখে চল্লিশের ঘরে রান করে দলকে জিতিয়েছিল মুশফিকুর। আর আশরাফুল বরাবরই ট্যালেন্টেড ব্যাটসম্যান। হুড়োতাড়া করে খেলার দোষে একটা সময় হারিয়ে গিয়েছিল। এখন আশরাফুলের মতোই গোটা বাংলাদেশ ব্যাটিং লাইন আপ নিজেদের ভুল বুঝতে পেরেছে। টেস্ট ব্যাটিং মানে প্রতিভার সঙ্গে সমানতালে ধৈর্য দরকার। দু’দিনের বেশি ধরে ১৯৬ ওভার খেলা, ছশো রান তোলা সেটাই প্রমাণ করল।
এই বাংলাদেশকে কিন্তু টেস্টে এ বার সমীহ করতেই হবে।

^^I have many colleagues at work who happen to be from kolkata. Many of them follow Bangladesh Cricket(Cricket in general) very closely. They seem to be very proud of what Bangladesh achieved in this test match...some of them even stayed up late nights watching this test match! of course many people in Kolkata have roots very close to Bangladesh.

যাইহোক, ভাল খেললে প্রশংসা করবেন, খারাপ খেললে খারাপ কথা বলবেন, এটাই ত স্বাভাবিক ! অনেকে ত প্রশংসাটুকু ও করতে কিপটামি করে !

LOL I actually had noticed it. Two-three years ago, I'd have got pissed and looked for his email address and sent him an email with my concerns vehemently known. But I think it's time we move on from that kinda stuff. We gotta be looking at far greater things now. Now there isn't (and actually there should never be) time to dwell on others' views, mistakes or mistaken stances. When we get where we want to be, all these will seem futile. So let's focus!

Earning a creditable draw in Sri Lanka's own backward. Not capitulating when the chips (and wickets) were down at the opposition's 570-4 dec (and at 177-4). Declaring on the Lankans. I would not term this as a "coming of age" event as Mr. Dasgupta potrayed it to be. Nice compliment but not accurate. It only proves that we have the ability to stand up and fight when backed into a corner. But when we have the upperhand (which is far and few) as was the case in the Chittagong test we tend to lose our collective composure. We have to learn to wrestle the initiative form our opponents on a frequent basis. Only then we can call ourselves a peer of other test playing nations. BD can take a giant step towards that goal at Colombo. Go Tigers.

i believe we can do more better in last test. specially bowling and fielding departments performance was n't satisfactory.
