dunno about playing semifinal...but i definitely see us doing good in the 2007 world cup, especially since whatmore will be staying with us as well. but i'll say this, semifinal doesn't sound as irrational as it did a couple of years ago.

You mean for WC 2007? This is unrealistic to set a goal like this. For now the goal should be to bring our cricket to a point where we can regularly compete with big daddies and give a run for their money. Goal should be to reach to a solid plarform where we can find ourselves in the middle of ICC test ranking under Whatmore guidence. Reaching WC semifinal is an additional gain though.

In that case, we'll have to fix some matches.

However, going past to the 2nd round is a very good possibility.

BCB should hire a specialist batting coach to improve the batting performance of opening and middle order batsman. Our lower order batsman are quite well which is evident from the recent performance. I am confident if Bangladesh can improve the batting then nothing is impossible in next World Cup 2007.

If kenya can do it why not us(semi 2003)/we do have whatmore

whatmore could of taken the second best job in cricket w/ India
but he stayed w/us to make us better. I can see alot of choches quitting
w/ a team like BD, but he sees our potential and wants to be there when the players reach it.

mohsin kamal was worst thing that ever happened to BD national cricket team. I still find it hard to believe that some dumbwit hired him as a coach.

Probably we got a group discount or something, with him.

Great news.
I guess Whatmore loves his job and get paid well for that (ref - payrise and bonus).

Its a win-win situation both for BCB and Whatmore.

He's serving well and we expect him to keep the performance graph up (mostly) till WC2007.

definitely a good news.it would be great to finalize the contracts b4 sending him anywhere abroad, let alone in india. after the recent hype in some indian newspaper regarding switching his job.. i am a little bit anxious for his safe return to the place where he is doing a splendid job of making some cubs into real tigers.though, its still one or two months away from finishing the initial contract so may be there is no way to renew the contract b4 its completion.

as he is our only shobedhon neelmoni its just a barti (exessive) tension from a poor tiger fan

I'm sure Whatmore has very specific targets for the 2007 WC. And he will probably start working on that in full swing now.

Meanwhile.. the Test/ODI series that we play before that... are highly important also, and outcome of these series from May'2005 till before the WC in 2007 will already show how we may do in the WC'07.
