I don't see any point of taking Soumya Liton and Taskin. I would rather go with Abu Zayed, Mr Nagin dance and Yasir Ali

On a batting surface where 300 will/may be a par score, who will be your key batsmen to score 300+ or chase a 300+ successfully? You will need 3-4 batsmen to average 50+ during the tournament.

We can expect Tamim & Mushy to do so. But if one of them has a bad run, who is going to up his game? Shakib, well he is a hit n miss. Mullah? At best, you can have 1 or 2 good inning from him, otherwise, he will average in 20-30. The latter 2 are highly unreliable.

Among Soumya, Sabbir, Liton, Mithun & Imrul (if he is picked) - at least 2 of them need to outstand in front of the world. Can't expect it from Liton when he averages below 20. Besides, when you're chasing 330 and you're 200/5 after 35 overs, do you see Mithun+Sabbir+Saif win you the match against the big teams?

Bowling-wise, when our batsmen collectively can post a 300+ score on board, only then our bowlers come into play to restrict the opponent under 300. If we score 250 on a batting paradise due to top-order collapse, you pick Rubel or Tasking, won't matter. We don't have a bowler who can run down the opposition by taking 5-6 wickets, even on a bowling pitch.

So far Tiger Manc's prediction looks on the point, nobody outside this group making any strong claim.

Taskin is expected to be fit for DPL super league stage, ie well before Ireland Tri-Series.

Hopefully Mithun is not in the squad. Even Imrul would be a better option if not Mosaddek or Yasir.

Liton shouldn't really be in the squad either and neither should Taskin. Hider and/or Ebadat should be there in place of Taskin.

Taskin and Yasir called up by Akram Khan. No chance for Farhad Reza.

I think he could be a good addition for medium pace and batting back up in England, like a Khaled Mahmud 2.0.

DPL round robin will end by April 9-10, a week before final WC squad is announced. Those matches prolly will be crucial for fringe players like Liton and Saifuddin, to ensure their places in the WC squad.

Saifuddin is going to World Cup for sure , Litons place might be dicey because of Kayes but even then almost 75% sure he will be in.

There won't be much changes to the world cup squad, we can predict almost all the places now, just one or two will be uncertain because of Taskin and Kayes coming back

Thanks Eshen.
Usually we change 7 new faces in every WC if I remember correctly. So it seems like Taijul, Taskin/Imrul will be left out.

I am not sure how you can be so confident of his selection given he is no better as a pacer than Soumya is.

I would rather take a specialist pacer in his place.

Yep this has to be the team. We need as many pacers as possible. And Shakib and Riyad can be our main spinners for the tournament. No need for Mehedy at all.

ICC waived the requirement to declare a 30-men preliminary squad. Teams can declare their 15-men squad directly by April 23. They will have till May 22 to make any change. After May 22, teams can make injury replacements only.
