I have doubt about Mashrafes potential
If Hondo can take six wickets why Mashrafe couldnt take few? after seeing last test and the first innings I think we overlooked his potential. he is far away from a world class first bowler.

Wait till he bowls on a fast wicket and proves you wrong. If needed, look up his performence in Australia.

I disagree with both Yafi and Rajputro; not because I disagree with your ' assuming potential of Mashrafee' but because both Tapash and Mashrafee are bowling way too short, particularly in this 2nd test match.

Hondo!! he didnt need any wicket excuse! I cant take it as an excuse we always give them extra to make us feel like we are world class, dont we?

You cant take take 2 pacers and compare them same on each wicket. Every player is different. Just because Enamul got more wicket than Rafiq on this match does not make Enamul a better bowler or Rafiq a bad player.
Have some patience, give time and watch the players prove themselves to you rather than you trying to base a player on a match or series.

Stat (before this test) do not show Hondo is better than Mashree ..... I think you are infering too much from the performance of one test.

Keep in mind that Mashrafe and Tapash have Rafiq and Enam to compete with for wickets. And Hondo.....you might well be his only fan!

sports_fan_bd tnks for your stats. my point was even though it is zim this team is behind then bd in every department and expr as wel on top we are in home their pos shd be like bd when playing against aussi. instead we let them become in form where other world class team shown us cricket is not a easy way out.

Rajputro I am not saying he is a crap bowler. but i am against any kind of comparison with Gmcgrath or nick named "Norail express" at this stage of his career he needs to prove a lot before we put him to such a high possition.

Mashree already took 3 wickets by bowling only 7-8 overs in the second innings.
Great answer for ppl who doubt about his capability.

dont judge a bowler based on only one match or something. he got 5 wickets on the last test match. and in the second inning of this test...he just picked up his 3rd wicket.
masri is a blessing to our cricket. i think verdicts from guys like wasim akram and sachin tendulkar should be enough to convince us

I'll say he is a crap bowler. He's craping all over the ZIM batsmen right now.

*Mashrafee is still not a world class bowler because if he was, then he would have been an owner of a few 5-fors, especially against Zimbabwe
*The craze with Mashrafee - there was this same craze with Hasibul Hossain Shanto once, and now look at Shanto
*Even after missing a few years in his life through injury, Mashrafee is bowling at the same pace and bowling well, and a better bowler; if not the same bowler - an area in which some of our other pace bowlers are not getting used to (they are not just the same bowler after injury)
*He has improved his batting a lot recently
*He has a good inswinger through which he gets batsman out lbw, or at least tries to get batsman out with his inswingers
*He is still not as experienced as his partner Tapash Baisya; he hasn't learnt to bowl effectively with the slower balls, block hole balls, etc.
Every bowler of Bangladesh, including Mashrafee is bowling badly in this 2nd test match, compared to their bowling in the first test match
