announced that he will
quit Test cricket after the
upcoming home series
against South Africa and
Pakistan.
With 145 appearances so
far, Jayawardene is most
capped Sri Lankan player
in the longest format of
the game and is currently
the joint-leading run
scorer for the country,
alongside Kumar
Sangakkara with 11,493
runs.

Great accomplishment in all formats. Weldone Mahela to carry on with the torch from Attapatu and others. You will be missed. Obviously Ranatunga and De Silva are the first ones to snatch it for you guys. You have trained the young ones nicely as well. Mathew, Perrera and it continues.

He, Sanga, and Matthews carried SL to a series win in England. Now it remains to be seen if the young generation can step up and fill the huge shoes.
