Default \"I am not thinking of a series win\" Bashar

Quote:
"Kaif's run out was one of the important turning points of the match. I'm very pleased with the allround effort of the team. I'm not thinking of a series win but just carrying the form into the next game."
That's digraceful...we mightn't have a chance like this at winning a series for a long time (Zimbabwe). But seriously, you can't go into a series decider not intending to win

Yeah, this is pathetic. But lets see what he has under his belt when he says "just carrying the form into the next game".

Guys you gotta translate it into bangla and then put it in context of bashar's humble personality. You then realize he was just sying "bhai, amra jita fita niya chinta korchi na. ei form next khelay thaklei hholo". Nothing wrong there.

He didn't expect a win on this match either, all he wanted was to perform as last match. As he mentioned, performences like that automatically will give you win in due time.

And we did win, today. I see nothing wrong with his statement.

What a contrast in charecters (Bahsar and Ganguli). I hope Bashar holds on to his polite humility when speaking to the media once his team starts winning regularly.

He is using the underdog tag. they are obviously going for the win but are keeping it quiet from the Indians.

this is a bluff from our clever captain. he's just saying that so that Danguly thinks we are not going to play to win. Then they will play relaxly and we will do "Ghar Motkano"....hehehehe....

they wont play relaxly... India will come out full force... a series loss wont take them up in the ODI table... and they have no intention of losing the series... but jemne ichcha kheluk... BD has won one and thats what matters rit now. Kalke jodi hereo jai amar dukkho nai.

Bashar er comment was polite... we all know he is softspoken in public media... so this is a very characteristic remark from the captain... I am sure he will go into the game with a positive mind... everyone wants to win... "I'm not thinking of a series win" ai part ta na mention korlei hoito... he shud have just said we will play positively tomorrow and hope to carry on the form... thats what everyone wanted to hear. He is surely thinking of a series win now... maybe not before the 2nd ODI but his post match thoughts surely had the thought of another win.

but anyways... well said boss... lead the batting tomorrow and u will become a national hero! atleast for a while!

Well spoken, because there's very good chance of us not winning today. And if we don't win after an ambitious declaration of series win from the captain, the commentators will mock about us.

yeah, basher has just been polite.

the thing that surprised me most of the win is that, none of our players shattered under that tremendous pressure at the ending overs of the game. no misfielding from nervousness, no catch drop, nothing. even when basher's face turned all black from pressure and looked like he was shaking inside his uniform, he did kept his head cool and did the right things with bowling rotations. on the other hand, that comical stamping by pilot.... "he just lost his nerve there".

yes, basher will not say it, but he'll work for it for sure. (first time writing a good comment about captain bashar?)

There is nothing wrong with this comment of his..
It really shows his maturity and how practical he is thinking about the whole thing!!

It would actually be bad if he was carried away and had started to threaten India to take away the series!!

His words only convince me of his long-term prospect as a successful captain!!

This is not his weakness.. its his maturity.. I can bet on it!

India will henceforth approach matches against Bangladesh like wounded tigers. Bangladesh will be hard put to win another ODI match against India in near future because India will approach these matches as seriously as they approach their matches with Kenya.

Winning isn't an end, it's a process.

If your bowlers have a plan for every batsman, and bowl to that plan, and

If you batsmen take the singles when there there, hit the bad balls and defend the good balls, and

If your fielders show concentration and hold their catches, and

If the non-strikers hustle and the backing-up fieldsmen back up the throws, and

If the team can keep their head when all about them are losing theirs, then you'll win more often than not.

But you can't think about 'winning'. You can think about doing a hook shot right, or about how to call for a ball you are going to catch, or about how to run, and pick up, and throw the stumps down in one fluid motion.

Do all these things, and you'll put yourself in a position to say "We won".

But dont think about winning.

It's a process, not an outcome.
