Pitch Prediction
After the disappointing show of batting by both teams in the practice match, I think pitch is gonna be a matter of concern. Zimbabwe wanted to take advantage of bouncy and green wicket which didn't work for them clearly. What do you guys think, what is gonna be the type of wicket in this match?
I think they will move away from the plan of using fully bouncy and green wicket. I think bounce will be there, but not much grass.
Please share your valuable opinions.

Fast, bouncy, but deteriorating to aid the two quality spinners in their arsenal.

batting pitch. Those who would stay in the middle would get runs and praise. Over ambition will lead to downfall.

Yup. Bouncy with green tinges. Hope we play Shakib as our only spinner. Three-pronged pace attack is a must.

I think they will indeed prepare pace friendly wicket and it will backfire on them. Not that flat or spin friendly wicket would help them win anyway.

They will prepare a flat batting pitch. They are returning to Test cricket after seven years, people are expecting them to lose. A draw or even playing five days will be a victory for them.

Well,Most likely a batting pitch. And if they produce seam-friendly wickets for their pacers to take advantage. Well our pacers aren't holding back. And spin wicket toh LALLA'r kotha chinta kore ontoto dibe na. Tao dekha jak.

I do agree with you. They are going to cut some grass from the wicket with some rowling work aswell. But bounce will be there no doubt.

the pitch for the test match wont be any concern....at best it will be sporting may be for the first day.....the pitch for this game was such because zim wanted to ensure that the bd batters dont get any batting to get used to the conditions...so that we go to the test match a bit edgy and without confidence...its a clear ploy starting from zims refusal to allow additional games...even not to let us enter the country couple of days earlier and also they made sure that it is a 1 test series- for the same reason,

the pitch has already been prepared...it takes prolly 1-2 weeks to drastically alter a pitch. maybe grass can be shaved off in 15 minutes, but you cant make a spinning or flat track suddenly be a seamers paradise.
regardless, we should win. but a tricky pitch will mean it will be a close game.

Both the team would be better off with a batting pitch.
They are coming back to test cricket after few years and putting up a good total would always be reasonable thing to do rather than trying to go for a kill, which in mostly likely, can and would backfire for them.
A draw for Zimbabwe would be nothing short of a victory.
For us, not matter what, WIN is must.
Pitch is secondary.

They have got the idea of the perfect pitch after the practice match. So whatever the wicket was, they will do everything to make it condusive to pace bowlers for sure. So expect a bouncy wicket.

The wicket is going be sporting!!! It probably will have high bounce to unsettle Bangladeshi batsmen. Will favor seamers mostly, but spinners will be able to purchase some help on day 4 and 5.
Toss will be a big issue in this test!!!

If the pitch favours any kind of bowling both teams will struggle to put runs on the board and it's likely the match will be done in 3 days! I'm sure Doug Higgins (head groundsman at HSC) will prepare a typical HSC pitch which might be difficult to bat on for the first 50 or so overs, but will flatten out as day 1 progresses. Day 2 will definitely be a batsman's paradise and PLENTY of runs will be scored and the bowlers will run in without much success. If the wicket turns out like this who ever wins should bowl first and take advantage of the early movement. As for the spinners, well, I expect nothing for the first three days but maybe they might get something from the fast bowlers' rough later on day three.

They wicket is pretty much flat. I sense it's 350+ runs wicket.

^^ It is a flat pitch.
So much for fielding first.

There is some grass on the wicket with some swing with spin but a bit flat.So it looked a sporting wicket to me.As Bangladesh is an ordinary batting side 300 is a fighting score here.

The wicket is even more flatter than BD wickets. No bounce at all. It's a batsmen's paradise if they can have patience. This is one of the slowest wickets i have seen outside sub-continents!

Looks like I was right. There is a bit of bounce but it's nice, friendly bounce which anyone can cope with.
