Well I believe players have big say in how the pitches should be as they instruct the curators before the game.

Slow turning wicket does not help much since batmen get lots of time to play. Pitch needs to have some pace and bounce as well to surprise the bastmen with spin. I don't know why our curators are so afraid of producing some bouncy wicket.

slow wickets.are good for spinners in.short formats but they don't help you get wickets in tests. A pitch wirh turn and bounce would have been good.

After 12 years of Test cricket we still could not figure out the ideal pitches for Test cricket for us!

A good pitch for spinners is one of those where the ball has variable bounce plus some cracks available so there can be some sudden turn

Wait till day 3 or at least tea session of day two. If there are cracks and variable bounce on day one the pitch would not last five days

If our recent success in Test (draw in SL) is any indication, our batting line up may have finally turned a corner. We don't have a bowling line up that is capable of taking 20 wickets. Shakib is coming back to test cricket from an injury, Razzak hasn't touched a red ball in 2 years (even if he did it wouldn't have made a difference), Gazi and Robiul are still a work in progress after their recent success, and Rubel well just look at his average.
As much as we all want to see us go from losing to winning test matches, we first need to learn how to draw test matches. And that's not going to happen with this bowling line up. It's sad but unfortunately the truth. IMO if we were set a more bowling friendly/turning pitch, we might be able to dominate 1-2 days, or few sessions but at the end it will be more of an advantage for NZ than us. I would rather let Mushy and co. bat for hours and pile up some runs like they did in SL. This won't turn us into world beaters, but IMO its a step in the right direction given our situation.

First of all we are a weak Test team. We cant afford to make a pitch which will helps the oppostion bowling.
Furthermore making bouncy pitches wont mean the likes of Australia or South Africa will be rushing to Bangladesh to play Test cricket.
Secondly if we start playing on bouncy pitches we are again back to square in learning to play on different conditions for a longer format of the game which we are alreading trying to learn.

We can't make bouncy pitch like Aus, SA all of sudden. In fact, our soil and weather is not suitable for such pitch. What I want is some 'pace' in the pitch. Ball should come to bat quicker than what we have seen in this match. Bowlers don't get any purchase from this pitch, not even spinner. Batsmen get so much time to adjust batting, if you bowl good length ball, batmen will hit through the wicket, if you bowl half pitch, the ball will disappear in the stands, only option then is to bowl fuller length then again you are asking for trouble. In this kind of low and slow pitch, bowlers best option to get wicket is to break batsmen's concentration and force him to make mistake.

My point is, why are we not making pitches that should suit our players in tests, a format where we have struggled?
We can prepare bouncy/seam friendly conditions when we are a better team and when teams like SL and Pakistan come over

Somehow I think this pitch is not as dead as you guys think it is. It is going to have plenty of life on 4th and 5th day. By the end of 3rd day, it already have good cracks.

To me this wicket was not as bad as some guys are complaining. Our batting line up is very much vulnerable. So we always have to assist our batsman by wicket.

we need batting practice/confidence. And i find no reason to think that our spinners are better than the spinners from any other top ranked teams especially from sub-continent. so it evens out

People if this test ends up in a draw who is benefited the most?
New Zealand 8th ranked with points of 79.
BD 10th ranked with points of 10.
Have anyone gone through the predictor simulation?
Stop this madness. I say madness because you do not know what is good for you Short-term and Long-term?

Do the curators in this country even know how to prepare spinning pitches? I don't remember when was the last time I saw a square turning pitch in Bangladesh where all the scores were below 300.

if the series is drawn 0-0 then NZ will lose 4 points and we'll gain 8.

It will help us in both short and long term.
Short term gain: Draw > 4th day defeat
Long term gain: Points in ICC test ranking
