Default Has Bangla Cricket Board Failed?

No A team tour for nearly two years. No urgency to play international matches after Pakistan pulled out. 2 full months of rest for players? Which other international team go through such a long holiday? What is Akram Khan doing? Has he failed in his role? Are all the BCB directors qualified in their role? Importantly how do they use the money generated from income for our cricket development?

Half the BCB officials were in UK during the champions trophy and funded by the board.

What else do you expect. Our board is rubbish. They don't do anything

Failed?

In what sense?

Isn't there an A team touring Aussie land right now?

No. That's a HP tour. The incompetent Akram Khan tried to cheekily say the HP tour is like a A team tour. Pakistan pulled out of the series, instead of being proactive and arranging something they took the lazy route of saying our players need rest. What the hell? India team need more rest than our players with the amounts of non stop cricket they play. Our boys are now on 2 month break. Plus, for nearly 2 years now they have failed to arrange any tours for the A team! Brings us back to Akram Khan again. Forget A teams! When was the last time our U-19 team played overseas? This are serious issues. The needs to be more transparency and accountability in terms of how they (BCB) spend money for our cricket development, we know they make good money.

We fans need to hold them accountable. The more awareness, the better.

Things are just fine. Don't worry. Mash will be captain for another 10 years. And world class Mushfiqur will be here to save us. BCB is awesome! And if you don't agree, we will take away your free speech to ensure that you are an upstanding citizen of the BC forum.

Honest question, why are you always behind Mushfiq's and the senior player's A$$? What has the lad done to you?

It is NOT Bangla Cricket Board -> Bangladesh Cricket Board!

BCBs only success so far has been recruiting Hathuri.

A key parameter to test a boards success is whether the team has a Second XI good enough to challenge the main team. In a country of 160 million, BCB is struggling to fill gaps in the main team.

Look at how Heath Streak is achieving great result for Zimbabwe as head coach.

How the hell did BCB not retain him? we had enough money to offer him...

But as usual... we went for the cheaper option.

Hathura and Heath was a deadly combination for us.

He was offered a job in India, something to do with running a academy. He was also bowling coach for an IPL team.

This could have easily been stopped, or worked some kind of deal.
Let him take part in IPL.. and also work in BD.. but no...its our.. morons...

They don't have a clue how to make deals... no clue at all..

I posted this already on the HP thread, but this thread is more appropriate:

BCB is a government agency run by the Bangladeshi government. The taxpayers of BD deserve to know how and where they spend the millions that is generated in revenue. As a government entity, this information is supposed to be public and readily available for anyone to see.

I've emailed them and requested this info (no response yet). I would encourage you all to do the same:
info (at) tigercricket.com.bd

If anyone is curious, BCB has a consitution: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4j...BXMU45YTA/view

And an anti-corruption code (which is a laugh, because it spells out everything a participant can/cannot do, but nothing about corruption and nepotism at the management level). https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4j...czamZudHM/view

@Yankees = IF what you say is true, they have to make the information public.

But I highly doubt they will - would love to see the annual accounts.

Yea I know they wont. But if we all demand to know, it will atleast send a message. How can taxpayers of BD be ok with this? No wonder the country is such s***.

I agree with this. Fans have to demand accountability and transparency.
Here it seems like more than the fans.. its the tax payers..

So it has to be both fans/tax payers that demand to know how and where they spend the money.

Streak had a very lucrative offer from IPL. A lot of high profile coaches are going to IPL because they offer a lot of money. And it is a 3-4 months stint.

BCB can't do either. In fact no board can. Pay them such high salary for 3-4 months employment.

You have to understand that no coaches like to stay too long in a foreign land. Eventually they like to go back to their home country and spend time with their family. Streak just did that now.

So you can't really blame BCB for all that.

No. Can't agree here, can fully blame BCB.

During IPL hardly any international tour goes on.
Hence if BCB allowed Heath Streak to coach in IPL, It wouldn't impact BD.

Rather, you are able to keep a very very good coach for 7-8 months of the year.
Plus we hardly have many international tours, at most its 5/6 months.

There was opportunity to work on a deal with Streak, BCB failed.
