Default The Decline of Bangladesh Cricket?

So how can we measure if Bangladesh have improved or not? The world cup happens every 3 to 4 years and most teams are prepared in that time-frame to challenge and compete. in our case, all the preparation before the world cup seems to mean nothing at all. Our weakness, standards etc all gets exposed in international tournments, I don't mean Asia cup, its just a fluke. The players Tamim, Shakib and Mushfiq have played a large number of international match's to know how to deal with pressure and become a match winner, I don't expect them to be match winner every match, but once in a blue moon would be great! in world cups.

The standard of coaching is really poor, our cricketers don't seem to understand foreign coach's, who normally are very genle or respectful of them. so what now? we need coach's that understand the game well, that can influence the way our players think, the attitude our players have. the team needs a superstar like coach who can inspire them and at the same time if mistake are made, he can whip them. in conclusion, we need a coach that is from Asia and understands cricket.

what are your guys thoughts? do we get exposed of our weaknesses in international tournments?

I am in full support of the Tigers and strongly feel we can beat India! lets do it! even than I want SJ out!

who can lead this team forward? Certainly not Mushfiq. Mushy is past his sell by date as captain

1. Shakib
The most talented cricketer and the sharpest mind in the 11 but his attitude and commitment to the team is still questionable. Will he be able to unite? or will he divide the team further?

2. Tamim
Needs to be dropped from the side so that he can go and seek help to sort out his performance issues. We need the Tamim of old and giving him captaincy pressure now will throw his batting down the drain.

3. Nasir
His mind is elsewhere and his place in the team itself is in jeopardy

4. Anamul
Still too young

5. Ryad
Sorry had to mention maaf koira den

6. Mashrafi
Too many injuries. The warhorse has done enough for us already

7. Mominul
A genuine prospect even though he is also very young

8. Shamsur
Do not know much about him... probably has no captaincy credentials and he seems a bit hot headed.

I won't say that we have declined at all.

We are going through a poor patch and as a result all our weaknesses are being exposed. I used to say in my earlier days in this forum that Sakib is the only quality bowler we have and this has been proved in recent times. I also used to say that even if we are winning matches here and there, our middle order looks weak given Nasir is not there to save our bums for the innumerable time. Guess what, jokhon bipod ashe, shob ekshate ashe.

This few months has exposed it all. I am sure this will force BCB to change captaincy as well as coaching staff.

Bangladesh cricket is perfectly fine..we just have a captain without any brain. Just a month back, under Mashrafe's captaincy we pushed Srilanka to the last ball in a T20 match. With right field placing and bowling change we would have won the matches against Afghanistan, HK and Pakistan and nobody would have been complaining now.

I see lack of BPL as a big factor.

I don't think Bangladesh cricket declined or ever will decline.

We were never up there to begin with
