Asia Cup 2012
Let there be logistics thread!
Since we are still fresh from the Pakistan tour and we have seen their patterns and kinda got them figured out, let's focus all our energy to produce a win!
Killuminati!
Ima get the ball rowlin'..
Tamim. He needs to find his confidence back. He cannot be in the iffy zone of two-minds whether to hit or not. Blame the umpire all you will, but had he committed to that shot that could easily have resulted in his fifth boundary. If you gon emulate Sehwag go all the way.
Shakib, a revelation. He should be our trump card, and I suspect putting him a notch up in batting order won't be a negative idea. Any weigh ins on this one?
Bowers: Nazmul can easily lead the trio (or duo) with Shafiul/Rubel. Rubel is still expensive so I will go with Shafiul and Nazmul.
Fielding. Has been atrocious. So they should set up intensive camp to diagnose this issue.
Kayes can be given a call back. No Ash please.

Kayes can be given a call back?!
But, but why? Let him get his form back first. Lets see how he does against the English lions and in DPL.

No Rubel is not still expensive. You're confusing Tests with ODIs. Rubel v Pakistan: 4 wickets @ 20.50 at an econ. rate of 4.5. He is on his way to become a fine ODI bowler. If they have any self-respect left they must win this match.

Imrul needs to be given another shot. It seems Tamim plays a lot better when Imrul is there, that in itself is enough reason to bring Imrul back. If we can get Tamim clicking again, our top order won't be too atrocious. I trust our middle order, but we won't win any games if we start out 38/4.

When it comes to learning, our cricketers have the memory of a goldfish. By the time March rolls around, with the exception of Shakib, they'll forget everything they learned in the last couple of months. So we'll be back to square one. Beating Pakistan in it's current form is beyond us, period. I know we should expect to win in every game we play, but realistically if we should target a victory, it should be March 20 vs SL.

If Tamim is going to emulate Sehwag, he should do it well. Sehwag plays awesome defense on good deliveries and then beats the crap out of any bad ball. Tamim should completely cut out premeditated shots.
Shakib is not a revelation. He has been doing this day in and day out. Sometimes, one or two players can lift a team. I hope Shakib does it for us.
Nazmul clearly is our best pacer. Unless we are playing three pacers, Rubel should be the other one.
The current fielding coach has not performed. If Julien is miraculously available, he should be rehired. Otherwise, BCB should look for a replacement.
The only reason for Ka-edge should be for Tamim, but I say, give SN a chance.
No Ash, agree. I think he is lost to cricket.
Law should be given until the PAK tour. If the team keeps regressing, he should go. Some might not agree with me, but I want Ian Pont as our next head coach. He is a logical thinker and have shown an ability to work effectively with our bowlers. If he is not a head coaching material, we will find out soon. But, I am confident that he will be an effective coach for someone. It might as well be us.

Its too early to make any comment on Tamim, Kayes, Shafiul and those who have been out of form for last couple of months.
We will have BPL before Asia Cup. Many youngsters may outdone them. If BPL can give us even 1-2 real gem, i will be happy to drop Kayees, Ash et al for good.

Pakistan is also in our group for the World T20. What a payback it'll be if we can knock them out in the group stages.

BPL ultimately will give us nothing. Some players will earn a lot of money. As an spectator we ll be able to watch the technique of some unseen players like Mominul,Alauddin Babu,Anamul,Asif.Kamrul Islam Rabbi.

Has anyone actually looked at the Asia Cup schedule?! All the India games have reserve days but when the rest of the three teams are playing each other there are no reserve days the next day but rather a different match. Pretty unbelievable.

I believe the reserve day is for any one or both of the two previous matches. You can look at it this way - India gets to rest less.
