What sanders is proposing is free college tuition for public schools that still excludes cost for meals, room and board and other things. Also, his legislation is about public colleges you still have to pay ridiculous amounts of tuition a year for private colleges. The student loan crisis is killing the middle class it is Time there be legislation passed to do something about it.
These things are bound to happen on a riba (interest/ usury) based society.

For the record Alhamdulillahi rabbil A'lamin I have no student loans but I have to speak for the poor, destitute, the oppressed people who have been financially robbed of their rights. My mother lived on minimum wage after my father passed away and she supported us. The minimum wage has not kept up with The cost of living and the cost of hyper-inflation. If you do the math and research if that was really the case then the minimum wage should have been $26 per hour today. We are only asking for $15. Isn't it ridiculous how only 15 people own 60 percent of wealth in the United States? The system is designed to suck money out of your pockets in the form of financial slavery.

The GOP will bring the free market logic. Free market is OK, but when 15 people own 60% of the wealth of the country, definitely without doubt dalem kuch kala hay.
I am all for free market, but the bottom line is, if you play by the rule, it is impossible, no matter how smart they are, for 15 people to own 60% of wealth. This is pure corruption.

I would like to see this math how minimum wage should be 26 in keeping up with inflation.
Cost of living should not factor into federal level rise in minimum wage. If NYC/NJ is too expensive for you - you are more than welcome to move to cheaper places...
Rifat, you and I and many other immigrant family share similar stories. My father was also a minimum wage worker, never took food stamp, housing help yet I am thankfully am at a much better position, perhaps maybe in top 5% earner. Same stories with you - as you said you are making good money and have no loans... Neither of us had college funds... So we are the example that it is more than possible to survive and thrive in a low wage setting... It is all about invidividuals desire and work ethics to get out of rat hole... This country is full of opportunities...
And one should aspire to do well and grab those opportunities through hard work, sacrifice etc... it should not be given to ppl for free by the government.
All these talk about student loans are ridiculous because ppl took out loans willy nilly without thoughts..and it is your reponsibility.... Also majority of ppl have average of 20 to 30 k loan which is not enough "to hold you back".
what can be done however should be to put cap on the rising tuition as colleges are doing that because ppl have access to more loans...
On surface it sounds nice but someone has to pay for that... and it will be you and me... your halal burger is gonna cost 15 dollars instead of 5... then you will become poor too despite earning 100k.

Just to be clear my stance:
No free college, or anything that will increase govt spending
Minimum wage should not be raised to 15 or whatever at federal level but at individual state level they should be raised based on the living standard. ie in NYC i think it is required for minimum wage to be much higher. And it also has to be company based. You can not expect a small business owner to pay its workers 15 to 20 an hour, provide health insurance and still thrive but multimillion dollar business certainly should... so walmart, target, costco (they already do) should have those higher standards..businessman with big chain stores.. ie one guy owning 100 mcdonalds ideally should be paying its workers higher.
On top of everything, ppl want to get rid of illegal immigrants.....1 golda chingri at restaurant is gonna cost 100 dollars then.

Rifat, if minimum wage was increased to $26 you would see unemployment rate sky rocket.

and what is wrong with being pro-wall street. USA is not only a capitalistic nation but is the very definition of the term. It is not like Canada or other Scandinavian nations and frankly it should not try to be one. The reason USA is so successful and has become the most powerful nation in modern history is partly because of its capitalistic open market policy which rewards hard work and creativity.
Bernie Sanders is a good man. He is an honest man. But he is too idealistic for a superpower like USA. He is perfect to run a small state like Vermont but not suited to be the commander in chief of the most powerful nation on earth. Plus, he has this very anti-Wall street notion. He understand very little of Dodd-Frank or any of regulatory policy. It sounds good and idealistic to hear about breaking up the banks. But very few people knows the consequences of it. Obama/Geithner/Bernanke/Paulson did a great job at reviving the economy and the regulation of Wall street. Any further restriction will hurt the industry and economy as a whole. But Sanders does not understand that and thinks providing free college and $15 minimum wage will solve all the problems.
As idumb said, one can still make it to the top in USA with only hard work and determination. American dream is still well alive.

Some refresher on Caucuses and primaries:
"Caucuses were once the most common way of choosing presidential nominees. Today, Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, North Dakota, Wyoming and Iowa are the only states to rely solely on the caucus, according to the Federal Election Commission. The territories of American Samoa, Guam and the Virgin Islands use the caucus also. All other states and Puerto Rico use primary elections or a combination of the voting formats.
Caucus meetings are arranged by either the state or political party to take place at a certain place and time. Caucuses are unique in that they allow participants to openly show support for candidates. Voting is often done by raising hands or breaking into groups according to the candidate participants support. The results of the caucus are used to determine the delegates present at county, state and national nominating conventions of each political party. Most often, only registered voters can participate in a caucus, and they are limited to the caucus of the party with which they are affiliated.
Primaries are a direct, statewide process of selecting candidates and delegates. Similar to the general election process, primary voters cast secret ballots for the candidates of their choosing. The results are used to determine the configuration of delegates at the national convention of each party. Primaries come in two basic forms: In an open primary, all registered voters can vote for any candidate, regardless of their political affiliation. Registered Democrats may vote for a Republican candidate, and Republican voters may cast ballots for a Democrat, for instance. And registered Independents can participate in either party’s primary. But in a closed primary, voters may vote only for candidates of the party with which they are registered."

Because china's economy is rising doesn't means that America's is going down.
Donald Trump believes that America is not great, yet he's been able to survive multiple bankruptcies in America.
Kicking a terrorist group's a$$ would essentially cost Americans a great deal of money.
Building a wall and expecting another country to pay for it is absolutely ridiculous.
Deporting 11 million people would further cost the country...

I apologize for giving you inaccurate figures, but here is an article to explain that figure would be $21.72....
http://cepr.net/documents/publicatio...e1-2012-03.pdf
by the way, I do agree with you with a lot of what you said...It's just that we are asking for an economic policy where it is fair and allows people to have equal opportunity....not just a certain privileged class, race, religion or gender.

Rifat did you read the article. In keeping up with inflation from 1960s (for whatever reason they chose that as the benchmark) - the minimum wage should be $9.22 now. Many states already pay more than that. NYC mandates I think close to $10+/hr for workers that work for someone who has more than 30+ stores. Many individual companies already raised their minimum wage...
But it is ludicrous to think it should be 21.72 no matter what criteria you use? A recent non STEM major college graduate do not make that much. They came with with that number using some crazy calculation at 100% "productivity growth" rate since 1960s.
Basically this is how I understand it....
Hypothetical example: A cashier in the 60s at a store let's say would write in a piece of paper prices of all the items you are buying.. calculating them by hand/calculator and doing a cash transaction.... let's say each customer would take 5 mins to finish - in an 8 hours period she would be able to see 90 customers or so....
But with advancement of technology, credit cards etc.. now you can just scan everything in bulk and the same customer would take less than half a minute to complete.... letting the cashier see close to 900 customers... Her PRODCUTIVITY went up significantly (10x more) but does NOT mean she is WORKING 10x harder.. infact i would say things are much more easier for her...
Her productivity went up many folds due to use of technology.. it DOES NOT mean she deserves many multiples to her salary because of this advancement....
That is simply not how things work imho. Lines are now faster, things are cheaper - you can't spend all your money on labor cost whereas ANYBODY WITH MINIMAL SKILL SET can do this job.... This is what we call a supply and demand economy.
Now should individual companies give out Bonuses to their employees (even minimum wage workers) for meeting certain goals.. I certainly think so but there is no role for it at federal level. It should not be mandated... These days and age social pressure work much better and more efficiently.. where business are vying for your money.

Hillary has strong support from the minority because of the Obama brand. The minority loves Obama, and here you have Clinton repeating every few minutes how she loves Obama, praises Obama and prides herself on continuing the Obama legacy which resonates well with the Blacks and Latinos. Meanwhile, Sanders is a relatively unknown name to them, but has recently made large strides in the past year but his past accomplishments and social work is vastly under-highlighted in the media, especially his fight for equal civil rights. It is ironic, because his economic plan would greatly benefit minorities more so than Hillary's.

Yes you are right No Name.
Seems she is relying on what Bill Clinton possibly did for the black and latino community.
But heard press today Bill helped build a lot of gaols, and gaols have a large % of incarceration of black people, this was on CNN.And the prison comunnity has increased exponentially.
I don't see their undying loyalty to her it seems brainless.
