1. Shamim Chowdhury (surprise!) /captain
2. That Zimbabwean (or SA?) dude...funny but absolutely cringeworthy who was against us throughout the tour /vice captain..... Jeremy?
3. Athar Ali Khan /wicket keeper
4. Sanjay Manjerekar
5. Sidhu
6. Ian Chappell (bigoted AF)
7. Arun Red
8. Roshan Abhisinghi
9. Ian Healey
10. Ravi Shastri
11. Ramiz Raza

people hate the last two, but at least they got some insights..

Shoulda included these as well
  • Harsha Bhugol
  • Ranjit Fernando
  • Prasad
  • Ranil Abhinayok
  • Sourav Ganguly
  • Donald
  • Shane Warne
  • Waqar Yonus
  • Simon Doull (superiority complex like most of his NZ ilk)

Hon'bl Mention: CJS

Funny how both lists are replete with subcon commies. And the Aus-Zim-NZ-SAF really retains absolutely ZERO knowledge outside their countries' team. Sad.

Sanath Jayasuriya is the worst commentator ever, Bhogle and dada ain't bad, Waqar has limited vocabulary but better at analyzing the technical points of the game than most, rest I agree completely. Add Aakash Chopra as well although he does mostly in Hindi but equally unbearable and I hate his face.

BTW welcome back Zeeshan da, thought you took a sabbatical, missed ya.

I tried typing Sehwag's name, but my phone auto-corrected to Sewage...so I didn't post the post.

I hate KP in the commentary box. Shane Warne also.

Zeeshan was banned. He served his sentence. Now he is back lol

That's why I didn't post...I have never listened to his commentary.

I don't know why he got banned.

So almost everyone's name is mentioned in someone's post.

Who do you like then? Use the mute button.

Undoubtedly:

1. Michael Holding
2. Richie Benaud
3. Michael Atherton
4. Nasser Hossain
5. Barry Richards of what little I heard of him
6. That South African dude...lol a die hard Soumya fan.. (I think SAfrican!)..he's our brilliant well wisher as well..probably English born

Note almost most of them are British... they still got the touch. Holding IS the voice of Lord's along with Bumble. Nothing like a Test match with these mellifluous dollops of goldenhoney dropping on ear voice along with the right food. Heaven!

Yeah he kinda goes either way. He is like the Billy Bowden, Indian Michael Jackson thrilla-in-manilla moonwalking traffic cop of commentary.

Either people like their flamboyancy or hate'em.

Not sure if that's flamboyance, he just seems to try too hard since it doesn't come to him naturally.

I dug up a nice article about him:

Quote:
Sport-lovers growing up in the post-1990 era are familiar with the dignified, analytical remarks of Alan Haydn Wilkins. A man who has been equally proficient behind the microphone while commentating on cricket, tennis, rugby, golf, boxing, squash, football, and Formula-One, Wilkins is easily one of the most respected voices in international sport.

It is as a cricket commentator that has made Wilkins a star in India. Despite not being an international cricketer or an Indian, he is popular in the country. His venerable, laconic voice on the microphone, punctuated by his hobby of browsing the sky with binoculars off it, makes him one of the most loved names in Indian cricket commentary.

Before he switched to his second profession, however, “Wilko” was an excellent seam bowler, thriving in English conditions in the 1970s and early 1980s. His accuracy earned him quite a reputation in the English cricket circuit, and he prospered more in the limited-overs matches.
