^re-enacting glass-stegall in 2008 would have yielded no benefit. Lehman was gone, AIG about to collapse, there is no liquidity and then all of a sudden you want to create more limitations? Obama had no choice but to inject money in the economy.

Note that I am not saying the original repeal by Clinton was right, or that politicians aren't influenced by wall st, or for that matter big banks are generous institutions.

But at that point, economy needed revitalization and liquidity. Shutting down all these banks would have meant jeopardizing trillion dollars of capital from regular folks in the form of deposit, savings and most importantly pension.

Your engineering ethics course is accurate. There is a conflict of interest. But Obama's regulation through Dodd-Frank act worked. There will never be another such financial crisis in the near future unless you have WW3 or any extreme events..

Obama doesn't enough credit about saving the US economy. He is no Hillary or Trump for that matter.

Trump actually has a shot at winning now...albeit a tough one. Him getting 270 EC votes is something like chasing 270 to win off 30 overs, can be done, but exceedingly tricky.

Question is will the Dems gain enough control of the senate to push a liberal nominee through for the SC? Some in the GOP are claiming they will fillibuster any nomination put forth by Hillary and just leave an 8 man court for the next 4 years.

http://www.vox.com/policy-and-politi...n-vote-trading

interesting tactic here...3rd party voters and Clinton supporters are "trading" votes in order to keep Drumpf out of the WH!

In my humble opinion, if you believe in Hillary and Hillary deserve your vote, vote for her, but don't vote her to prevent Trump, when you think she is lesser evil.

As for me I would have voted for Sanders. But now he is not in the ballot, I would vote for Jill Stein, even she will get 2-3% of vote.
After lot of thought, I did go with Stein. I hope green can get 5% overall.

"wasted vote" is an oxymoron.

If everyone thinks about "wasting" then we all will be in eternal vicious circle. Where are the "Whigs" now? There are always those who will try to change the course. And change is slow.

I can certainly understand "stop trump movement" and "lesser of evil" discussion, and all that justification. I have no complaints.

But voting for best candidate and voting for what is right, trumps them all.

Even Aragorn agrees.

yes you are right voting for who you think is the best candidate is the way to go. BTW i don't understand "stop the trump" movement discussion.

Personally i would not go out of my way to vote which will not count... has nothing to do with candidates... i am lazy like that ...thats all...

If i lived in a swing state, i would be at the polls at 6 am. Now I am at home, writing this... eto kosto koira poll e keno jabo shudhu shudhu ?

Democrats always target minorities, immigrants to get votes. Most people in america nowadays fall into either of these categories anyways...you get the picture who is the next president of the US...most people don't think too much about what's really going on. they just turn on CNN/FOX and just accept whatever is fed to them.

In contrast, generally speaking, European population is much more educated and sophisticated than the average american.

Not true, the Scands have been displaying racism and xenophobia for awhile now. It doesn't help that the immigrants/refugees from the ME there have also been behaving like they're still in the ME. Their tolerance for foreigners has reached or is reaching their threshold.

266k sipping the hippy kool aid? I guess their voting with "moral" got them what they were really yearning for. Really disappointed here. My two younger brothers voted for hillary. But both were in
Deep blue territories.
