Does Mashrafe have an attitude problem?
I have noticed that it seems like Mash has a bad attitude. When he is bowling, he never wants to bowl with the old ball. When batting, he just seems like he isn't concentrating. He's been involved in some confrontations with fans before and really seems to have a hot head. His batting really disappointed me today. If he could have just stayed with Mushy, we might have had a chance. And when he is bowling, if things are going wrong, it just seems like he doesn't give 100% effort. He should not be our future captain!

There are media reports about conforntations between Mashrafe and Ashraful.
I hope they will be able to sort out the differences.

Yeah Ash better be angry with Mashrafe. When your main strike bowler refuses to bowl with the old ball, there is something wrong.

maybe he refuses to bowl with an old ball, because he realises that robin is better than him in getting the ball to reverse.
a blow to his ego.

They just have ego issues, there both at fault.
Again If I'm Masri get the Knee Surgery, he Couldn't chase down simple balls for 4. If Rasel gets healthy I can live with Robin and Rasel opening the ODI bowling. Not playing Test Cricket until the WI series.
He can have enough rehab time to get his IPL money & Probably be back in time to play in the Dubai 20/20's or the Pak ODI's.

I think he is hiding some form of injury, and he is not at 100% percent, and thus is frustrated.

several factors:
1. aftermath effects of injury
2. fatigue
3. being "unlucky"and being denied an absolutely pplumb decision strongly demoralizes players
4. many innings but failure to live up to his class(no 5 wicket hauls! in test yet)...however, this problem was ignored in past as Bangladesh rarely sent oppostion to bat for more than 180 overs(combined two innings)..if alhamdulillah Bangladesh's recent Good test form(though victoryless, but historically, this is our best Test side, no doubt) continues...he has fair amount of chances to topple the opposition batting lineup.
recently, i have noticed, he has significantly improved his line and length alhamdulillah well done!
another thing to consider: he has been playing for the Bangladeshi side since 2001, of course, when you are always losing and getting bashed by Media by overburdening expectations, fighting fatigue, injury playing with 120% emotionalism but team still not winning, one wonders, How do you keep a smile in your face?

BTW why wasn't shahadat used in the 2nd new ball? if he is not good than why even pick him? didn't he got 6 against SA in BD slow pitches?

a fast bowler without an attitude is like panta without salt.
he NEEDS to have a bad attitude. it plays in the mind of opponent batsmen.

I agree with 100% with these points rifat bhaiya, he has been in alot of pressure and he had almost no break from the WC, like I said before he really needs a break.

Absolutely correct. You guys have to remember that this guy has had to put up with quite a lot. He really has been the only decent pace bowler in the team for a long time and he's had to carry a lot of responsibility on his shoulders because of that. He's also had to try save our faces, coming into bat when the score is on 90 with 6 wickets down. Several times he's had to face that, and in my opnion he's just plain pissed. I see his face when he plays - he just doesn't seem happy. Always this annoyed reaction. Perhaps he needs a break, though I'm afraid of what will happen to the side if he's not in it.
He deserves much more than an "overrated bowler" tag. That's the most ridiculous comment I've heard so far. Let's be there for our players for once.

I have noticed that in Mash recently and written about this in several threads. He should be nowhere near the captaincy.

I like his attitude.. who wants to bowl for the dumbest captain in the world? If Ash wants to keep his position he needs to convert more of those 1 and 0’s to 50 and 100 consistently..

His body language had been very negative with the old ball.
Donno if that has anything to do with his attidude and conflicts (As Miraz Suggests) with Ash.
But that's not good for him and the team. I have seen him showing such attitude on a few previous occassions as well. I don't think that his past injuries had anything to do with such negative attitude.

It is good when you show attitude toward the batsmen. Not when you show it to your teammates. Obviously I don't have any direct proof of that but if that does happen, it is something to be concerned about. Rifat has given few good reasons though but at the end, when you are playing for your country, you should be over that and give your hundred percent all the time. The key word is all the time, specially when the going gets tough. Few times, it did look like he is just doing things for the heck of it.

I think that he is trying to hide an injury and it is playing on his mind. he is afraid of gettng another injury, especially where his feet, knees and legs are concerned. i dont blame him at all.
I feel after this series, he should have his knee operation and recuperate for the WI tour

salaam Zainab, good to see you back (When Ashrful scores, you might even see Bro "Israr" making a comeback and saying, "Guys, i change my mind, I will support Bangladesh from now on, no matter what"! )
on topic, at least Mortaza hasn't signed up for the ICL, i think that should be satisfactory enough for now.

I don't think the issue is so serious. Probably injury and also the performance of the new pacers put him under pressure. I am sure he will get over it.
