We were much in the game till the second drinks and then on we started to slide. Has this been not a "para level" wicket keeping from one of the most experienced campaigner in the team we could book the home side 250+ or may be less, who knows. The chasing could be much easier even with Ash's brain fart and Rok's brain jam.

One catch miss can twist the whole scenario and all the good works done earlier become useless in a whiplash - remember Mashrafi dropping Ponting, Shakib recently dropped Dhoni or was it Gamvir and now Mushfik.

name one player who will have a better average than Ashraful? or will score more 100s than ashraful? not in this decade man.. ashraful is pure class. on his good days he makes kallis look like murali.. but often he can be seen batting like murali.. Ash is invincible in bd cricket.. he can't be dropped.. simply No

Najmul and Shahadat leaked runs like hell. Oram was like a man possessed, he came out with the determination to blast the bowlers and they did not know how to bowl to him, both batsmen dominated the bowling,BD just about crumbled under this onslaught. Shafiul, Sakib and naeem tried to contain the runs, but I knew that after NZ reached 300 runs that the game was lost, regardless, the batsmen were under pressure right away. Razzak should have been there instead of Najmul.
I hope Aftab and Razzak are in for the second ODI

When will BD learn the art of winning consistently against stronger oppositions? They're playing test cricket for almost 10 years now. What should be done to rectify this problem?

I wonder how McGrath got even one wicket. He never bowled over 120kph!
Oh! Perhaps there is something in accuracy, variations, angles, etc.

Who is that guy who can take that place?
Pointing at Ashraful isnt the solution ... the entire batting order is performing the same, I dont think that he is the reason for poor performance of Shakib and the rest of the team. Problem is somewhere else.

So what else is new. It's been 10+ years and they haven't learned to win on a consistent basis in any format.

This would have been the lineup if I were Siddons:
Tamim, Imrul, Mushfiq, Mahmudullah, Naeem, Shakib, Ashraful, Aftab, Shahadat, Shafiul and Rubel.
Let Aftab and Ashraful have the swinging fun at the bottom. Mahmudullah and Naeem are batting too low down the order.

It has become a recurring theme for BD to seize the initiative in the beginning of an inning, both while batting and bowling, and completely give it away later in the inning. Although I was afraid about exactly this, but I was hoping against hope that we will get NZ for less than 350. Most of our boys severely lacks in toughness. It is a matter of time. I hope...
