Next International Cricket Stadium to be built in Cox's Bazar!
http://www.bangladesherkhela.info/in...&editionID=883
What the heck?! How many international cricketers Cox's Bazar have produced?! Or even FC cricketers?!
Why Rajshahi and Mymensigh get the snub?!

Cox's Bazar is much better as an international venue than Myn / Raj.
1. Gives better facilities of relaxation for the players/touring teams
2. Promotes Tourism
I would prefer another Venue in Kuakata.
Let the expectators travel to different venues.

I have always seen Cox Bazar as one of the most promising tourist spots in Asia. So if we can create another market via cricket, why not? Plus the sea/moisture may make great cricketing conditions :!

i'm gonna go ahead and support this one (and i think my ancestral sylhet should have gotten the next venue if not Rajshahi...not sure about mymensingh tho).
like people said, cox's bazar will be touristy...that will drag in people thru the turnstyles. plus its a kind of exotic location.
but perhaps the biggest reason, logically, is that airport and hotels are already firmly placed there. we could use a third test venue - why BCB has failed to organize matches at Bogra and Khulna (and i guess Fatullah) is beyond me. we should play a few at those venues, especially against minnows. we need to decentralize beyond dhaka and chittagong.

As long as it's made good enough and also get used (unlike some others) after getting built, I have no problem. And the extra features that Cox'sbazar has, as others mentioned, will surely help. However, we should also try improving facilites around the other stadiums we have.

I support the decision of building a new intl stadium in cox'sbazar
rajshahi already has a stadium, you just need renovate it to convert it to intl standard.
eventually there will be a stadium at mymensing when there will be a new inlt airport there ( within 10-15 years).

This is an old Saber Choudhury plan. I'm glad it's being revived. The original plan included a full training facility for the national team in Coxs Bazar. The conditions there would mimic many grounds around the world, including some in NZ & WI.

sounds like a good idea. The tourism factor could attract various multi nation series' which would be good for the economy.

The reason Shaheed Chandu Stadium ( if its still called that name today..) in Bogra is not an ICC like because there is only one hotel.. Hotel Naaz there. And happens to be that that hotel is actually owned by a BNP stalwart. Khulna has the same logistical problem but the stadium is also not ICC approved and Fatullah is ruled out guess what? for traffic!!! team's cant get to Fatullah without spending signifcant amount of time in traffic jam and there were/are no international standard hotels or residencies in Narayanganj..
Yes, its a peculiar moronic problems with those stadiums that Cox's Bazar or Chittagong Divisional Stadium wont have. Moreover, if it was an idea of an ex Awami League administrator,,, certainly the government will revert to that idea than anything else. All in all, the more stadiums the better we are but I hope they also spend more money in players development than having more ways to release Tenders for infrastructure projects...

BNP didn't host many matches at bogra either. i guess they the CTG took over before they had many chances. but still. IMO, we are too small a cricket nation to need a ton of venues like india. we need just 3 or max 4. dhaka and chittagong will always get the tests, until we host a 3 test series...but that means we should play ODIs at bogra or khulna or at Cox's bazaar.
in particular the Bogra stadium is a sparkling beauty that we should take more opportunities to project as our national image.

Good point. BCB should have taken in up for the world cup; but what you can say, we are always late Latifs, in everything.

But the question is, does Cox's Bazar have the fan base who is willing to spend money and watch a cricket match? Unless people from Chittagong or other places travel there, I don't know how many people would actually turn up. BCB should really think twice about it. If they persist, then they better make the stadium the likes of NZ or SA with a lot of lawns where tourist, I mean white folks, can tan while watching their teams play BD. Good idea but should be very well planned to make it a sustainable one.
