No wonder most of the pacers didnt make the main team. Based on what I saw today Mahadey is better than Nasu.

The surroundings of this stadium looks nice.

Bangladesh should win this. But this means nothing winning against Afghanistan and Oman.

When you have this garbage like Mondol and poor top order batsman you will get creamed.

I am not sure about winning, only one over left from rakibul. Saif only used 5 bowlers one of them is sarkar..if these are used till the end mondol still have 3 overs, he will go for 50 in those 3

With this Mondol, it wont be an easy win for BD. How does this kind of crap make even the C team??

If it wasnt for the last few good overs for BD, the team would have lost this game.

Really poor team selection with this Mondal and not going in with 5 regular bowlers. Sarkar will be annihilated by a decent team.

Congrats the boys on winning and finishing on top of the group!

Saying that, not happy how close AFG came to a win. Habibul Bashar being the team manager, I see presence of his influence in pre-scripted team captaincy:

1) The two spinners, Mahedi and Raqibul, did well keeping RR in check in the first half of AFG innings. But, once their overs are done, pacers struggled to keep RR in check. Saif could have introduced himself or Joy as a third spinner in the middle overs, keep overs from his two main spinners to mix up with the pacers later.

2) Mahedi has been in good batting form while Akbar has been struggling. Yet Mahedi has been coming to bat after Akbar every match. IMO, Akbar should be dropped, handing over keeping gloves to Zakir.

Now we wait to see who loses the Ind-Pak match. I will prefer to face India in the semi, as they brought their U/23 team. Pakistan brought their A-team (like us) with a good number of players who already played for Pakistan Men's team.

To Bashar's credit, he has mentioned both Soumya and Mahedi having equal chances for ODI team selection. He mentioned how Shakib-Razzak-Rafique all three played under him despite all three being SLAs. I am interpreting that as he doesn't mind seeing both Miraz and Mahedi in the team though both play similar roles.

Joy is showing high potential to become one of our all format players in future. Few matches he opened for Comilla, in BPL, had shown his potential in T20 as well. He has been practicing his offspin, which may come handy in the shorter formats.

However, given he's yet to play a short version international match, imo, selectors should keep him the pipeline for now, at least till after WC. There is not really any pressing need in our ODI top or middle order to rush him in.

Tanzid, Joy, and Dipu, along with Hridoy, give me hope about post Tamim-Mushfiq era (Shakib is a different beast, there is no replacement for him).

We saw mahedi enough. After that many matches, I can't figure out if he is a bowler or a batsmen. The guy is a half *** on both department. Miraz on the other hand is a bowler who can bat and can even win you games alone as we saw vs Ind. Both are not equal. One is much superior

Completely agree. But I want to see mahadi atleast in Asia cup. We saw him in T20s..odi and T20s are different. Let's see how he does in odis, we got nothing to lose. Only odis he played was against NZ in NZ. Can't judge him on that, it's bodai selectors fault to even think he could do well in NZ of all places

When Sarkar came into the scene he smashed Pakistan and South Africa like a bully.

Sadly it was all down hill from there especially after he got paraded around a truck in his village with flower necklaces on his head like a cow for Qurbani.

I thought he was a great assist to the team. Now don’t think he has the quality to play competitive international cricket.

I like how Akbar Ali is vocal and tries to pump up eveyone. He is having a go at fielders not being vocal. This is quite important.

Coaches at the u10-12 in the UK make sure that all the players support their bowler by being vocal :Some light sledging in such games: Ducks on the menu; batsman a doughnut as he is everything on the edges and no middle
