It all depends on the manner in which the players apply themselves. Maker Sri Lanka work for every single wicket rrather than gifting them. The bowling have got to improve, Marshal needs more bowling, and depends on the nature of the pitch, should rest rubel

Hope that the last match was just a bad match and we rebound from it. We better bounce back and we should be able to. If we could handle this attack in SL then why not in BD?

matthews was asked about this, he was asked that if he was surprised to see the batsmen who scored so many runs against the same attack falter like this in this test match..he replied that their young bowlers improved a lot since that test match and this was a result of that

I see no hope. Our players are severely demolished after the 1st test. On the other hand, SL is in great form. They know exactly what our limitations are. Sanga Mahela Herath are just too much to handle for us in test. .
But that reality won't stop me from rooting for my tigers. Lets go tigers. Dekhay daao♡♡♡

That's a good point. Their pacers have improved leaps and bounds in the last year. Actually their pacers were even better than the Pakistanis in their last series.
Makes you wonder why our pacers have not improved much in the longest format? Some blame should go to coach Shane but I feel it's a much bigger problem. Our domestic circuit is just not preparing our players for the Test format like the other nations

Just pray that Silva & Co don't go to the temple the night before the match or else we'll be doomed again!

Agreed that our domestic circuit is not producing quality fast bowlers but I personally think that our players are not in good hand. We needed someone like Vaas as our bowling coach and someone like Attapattu as our batting coach. Even Aminul islam Bulbul can offer so much in the batting department.
Shane didnt do that bad. But I think our pacers lerant next to nada from him.
Vaas ke jodi paitam bd team er chehara paltay jaito

I think our genes are mainly the problem. We have to accept that we won't ever be like the Pakistanis or the Afghans. Our genes are more similar to the Lankans and Indians but our fast bowlers are not even close to their level. It's an old story but we need to open some pace academies so we can at least get to level of SL and India. It's not ideal but we'd have a much better chance at winning matches if we were on their level.

Ya SL is very fortunate to have a person like Vaas teaching them fast bowling. He can relate to the players and vice versa. Unfortunately we don't have somebody like Vaas. Like I said before, a pace academy is the best way to go or sending our pacers to coach Ian's pace academy which is a better way to go IMO.

i still remember that part of our test match against South Africa... when Ntini was bowling bouncers to Akram Khan and he was trying his level best to defend the balls even with his body and chest but not attempted any silly shots with the bat.. as there were fielders all around the leg side to catch any hook/pull shots.. and the commies were also laughing at his technique.. he was clearly having difficulties leaving the ball both technically and physically(while crouching within short time)
I have mentioned this to show how dedicated our players were at that time... the dismissal of marshall ayub in last innings when he was playing unnecessarily a short ball and looping a catch to short leg was such a contrast..

A lot of blame should also go on BCB for the debacle of the 1st Test. Looking back at the domestic schedule now, we were no way prepared for the 1st Test. We played a bunch of DPL and T20 matches and then right before this tour started, we had just 2 FC matches. Whereas SL just played a top opposition like Pakistan in 3 Tests. Obviously the Lankans would be a lot more prepared. This is why we always need to start our domestic season with the BCL and then go on to the DPL and T20 matches. Not the other way around
