Most of this remittance are likely from middle east where the migrant workers family in BD depends on the income.

I don't think the families in UK, USA, Australia are that much of a force as they tend to be of higher educated background and become part of that foreign country so they don't send much money back.

So i don't think it's sylhet money

Most of these middle eastern BD workers are from Sylhet, I assume?
Not sure about USA/Australia...
But I can tell you, UK is still sending a lot of money to BD, the most I would assume.
Money transfer business does really well here, especially BD ones.

I personally know some, since my parent, cousin etc, still send money back home.

Lot of young british Bangladeshis are heavily involved with charity organisations.
Most of these organisations are located in BD.

# 1 Sylethis sending most remittace: By district wise it is #14. By division it is #4 out of 7 divisions. This is from the offical gov't source --

source A : http://www.old.bmet.gov.bd/BMET/view...eportnumber=25

source B (page 29)): http://203.112.218.65:8008/WebTestAp...lume-3_IMB.pdf

#2 UK as number 1 remittance source country: you assumed wrong. UK sends less than US. In fact, UK is not even in Top 5. It sends roughly 20% of top remittance source country (KSA).

source - https://www.bb.org.bd/econdata/wagermidtl.php

It is well documented that very few loves Sylhet more than me in this forum. But false claims like these makes us look foolish.

^ can’t say if you are being serious or just being stupid.

These are official govt source. Why would dhakaiyas make up these numbers? Dhaka doesn’t even top the list. Dhaka division has nothing to gain from these. It’s not like public investments are allocated based on that.

Foolish statements like these makes sylethis look really retarted.

I sometimes think people are more proud to be Sylheti than Bangladeshi.

I think the British government in the next consensus should have two option: British Bangldeshi and British Sylheti

Don’t be stupid Sheikh Mufi. Think outside the box.

This figures don’t factor in the millions that go into Bangladesh from charitable donations.

Juat think how much gets contributed every Ramadhan by Sylhetis.

I don't see Sylhet mentioned anywhere in the article ? The problem with you British Syletis is that you have such a huge ego that you think Bangladesh survives on the remittance that you lot send back.

Majority of the remittance is sent by our sromiks in Middle East. BD expats in the West try to bring money from BD rather than send it back.

Prottekta Bangali / Syleti channel khali charity fundraising korey Rozar shomoy. Per night, they make £10,000. There are also many mullahs who would come from BD on visit visa just for this month. Sadly, 75% of the money goes into these people's pockets.

https://bhclondon.org.uk/remittance-...t-bangladeshis

If I am reading this right, in 2017/18 UK accounted for 7.38% of total remittances to Bangladesh, and majority of that would be from the most generous Sylethis. FDI from UK accounted for higher % of 14.56%

I am guessing this is another source where the info is manipulated by the jealous Non-Sylethis to put them down.

you have to adjust for the strength of sylheti dollars against nonsylheti dollars. So sportingBD is probably not far off saying sylheti dollars are the primary driver for Bd economy.
