Default Rana would be better choice instead of Baisha

He again gave away 57 odd runs. Baisha was the most expensive bowler today as well.. On the other hand the ball was turning and we were not with Rana. Rana could do some thing better I am sure. At least make it still harder for Aussies.

Rana could take 3 wickets and we could win. This is Basher's fault.

Had Rana played, there was a real chance of wining. Hoever, it is not Bashar's fault alone. What about the selectors and team management. I don't think bashar is a good Captain, but let us not blame him for everyting. We can not predict every thing either. We predicted a doom performance by Mahmud, but I thought he did a reasonable job.

I thought Tapash bowled quite well. He had the difficult task of bowling to Gilchrist who you can't give any width, anything short or anything full. He's the hardest batsman to bowl to in world cricket and the couple of loose ones he put away. He was unlucky to go for 57 and had a couple of LBW appeals turned down.

It is a bit odd to drop Rana after he took 3 wickets but you must remember he was picked in Manchester and Leeds because they were turning wickets. This one in Canterbury wasn't. I'm glad they picked Tapash and Mahmud. They both had poor series, Tapash was in need of confidence and Mahmud needed to go out on a high note. As Shahriah Nafees said "Australia brings out the best in their opponents".

"horses for courses", lads. That's the way of international cricket these days. Rana would not be ideal on a seamer's wicket (chacha proved that by taking a wicket, despite some late runs conceded).

Problem: bowling

Solution: bootcamp trainning from Wasim Akram

Result: Win against any teams consistently

Problem: none of our bowlers has the god given talent of a Wasim Akram. We have no genuine swing bowler, nor do we have anyone who can extract disconcerting bounce. At best they'd learn some reverse swing tips.
