How to help in Rohingya crisis.
Besides donating to some major non profit organization, can someone come up with ways to help. Please keep political suggestions off but actually talk about genuinely helping a refugee.
let's see who can come up with some good stuff that maybe some of our members here who is visiting BD can get involved in.

If you have a house in BD that is left empty most of the year, take them in.
Provide for them until the situation gets resolved and they can return home peacefully.
If you are going there in BD for holiday, take couple of orphans (at least one if you feel uncomfortable with more) to your place, give them the best time possible. They may never experience such kind of experience as you can provide for them, even for a week or two. They will cherish those moment. To live a week like a normal person, that can do whatever he wishes, like a normal kid. They will make sincere dua for you. Make them happy and smile.

If this is too complicated or too hard -
Than go to that place where most of them are. Arrange some sports/fun activities for the young children’s. Spend your day doing something nice that will make them happy. Buy some cricket bat, football etc, give it out to them.

i think this is illegal. I think they have to remain in the camps. I don't want your thougths.. I want you to search the net, facebook and actually come up with legitimate sources or ways to help... within laws. for example, nameing Volunteer organizations where you can physically get involved instead of just donating to an org, so you actually know first had what's going on.
this is a HUGE mess and the repercussions of this will be felt decades to come. 1 million rohingyas in that small country... God help everyone.

Most organisation are happy to support people that likes to volunteer physically. But the known ones are like UNICEF, Muslim Aid, Islamic Relief. You would have to speak to them directly (Google them, email/phone etc) Tell them that you would like to help as a volunteer. Most organisations are very welcoming to this.

Boycott Burmese products. I saw a nice winter jacket the other day. As soon as I saw it was made in Burma, I left it alone.
Obstruct Burmese embassies may be another good idea.

For a permanent solution you have to make a path for them to go back. That means securing their homeland. Without politically engaging you can't house millions of new mouth and ask UN to fund them.

We should all go and build kata tarer bera around the camp and then electrify it. ( Please donate your Energizer batteries )
I read a report that 20 year old pimps are employing Rohingya women as prostitutes. Hopefully, this should stop them

This is how ppl like trump wins an election ..there are just too many ppl like the above ..
We should put you in that camp .
Fyi ... prostitution is legal in Bangladesh ... so there is nothing wrong with any legal citizen willing to sell their service .
Sometimes it's a good practice to keep your thoughts to yourself .. (I should exercise this too online )

Make a fuching statement even if it doen't change anything.... just say F&&& you bit&&!!

As a Muslim and a human being, I am against prostitution.
Anyway, you seemed to have missed the point. Rohingya women are being exploited.

I was actually with Shingara and I still think his boycott idea is the sanest and most sagacious post in this thread. But yeah...the whole electric fence thingy kinda threw me off.
Time to time, non-violent protest had made the biggest impact in humanity. Anyway, nothing I say or write will do any justice to the unspeakable cruelty.

Posting the link again. All of the money that was raised in his campaign will go to helping the refugees such as:
Quote:
With your generous donations, our volunteers will aim to achieve the following:
- Distribute food packages regularly to the refugees currently residing at the Cox's Bazaar. $16 can feed one individual for an entire month. $100 can feed a family of 6 for an entire month.
- Establish water wells in the makeshift camps that have popped up in the area. A normal water well is estimated to cost approximately $1500.
- Make any necessary purchases for medical and sanitation needs.
- Document the crisis first hand.
All funds collected will be directed to the Rohingya population. We are raising funds so that we can help them directly with food, water, medical needs, and basic necessities.
|
Please donate generously. there are no personal gains from this project except doing good solely for the sake of Allah.

I was actually going to donate. But when you said "For sake of Allah" I immediately withdrew my intention.
It's for sake of HUMANITY!!!! What the hell's wrong with you man?
Anyone has any link that directly funds help directly to the source?
