How was that given out? Looked to have something behind the line and benefit of doubt should go to batsman.

Well Sanath had started off as a spinner mostly batting at number 7 or 8 and opening with him and Kaluwitharana was an experiment. The rest of course is history!

The benefit of the doubt goes to India. You must be new to this cricket thing.

Liton is a roll. Granted it was a flat pitch and the quality of bowling is pedestrian featuring Farhad Reza and Tailjul, a double century off 140 balls is still note worthy.

I think he'll be a key player at the world cup. Will win matches for us for sure.

Agree even in world cup no garauntee that he will continue scoring big but he will do better than daahing new comers and total packages..time to stick with these players along with 4 cores. I am more now worried about auto choice core players who are not participating in these series before worldcup.

Liton will need to have really sorted his footwork and shot selection as in places like England and with some quality swing bowling, alot of sub continent players are exposed.

লিটন খুবই নিঃস্বার্থভাবে খেলে এটা আমার খুব ভালো লাগে আর এই জন্যই ও খুব দ্রুত স্কোর করে

Liton's innings feels a lot like the old Ashraful. One Eid innings followed by couple of craps. Hope he becomes consistent. Even scoring 20 before getting out is a bonus. Most of the time he gets out under 10

Unlike Ash, who is inconsistent at every level, Liton has healthy FC and List-A averages. Given enough time, he is likely to become a consistent performer for BD.

I have seen ashfaful try dilscoop and reverse sweeps when he should focus on strike rotation. I have seen ashraful playing with only 2 gears ( 1st and 5th). While litons technique still needs sorting, he is neither 2 dimensional as a batsman, nor is he always taking risks.

^ the post wasn't comparing him with ash as a player but rather the consistency of his international innings.

Liton again showing his abilities and skillset. If he can improve his consistency, he will be here to stay.

i love seeing BC posters jump the gun when it comes to certain players, and get completely proven wrong. Idk why but it makes me feel good on the inside.

Love watching him. Most aesthetically pleasing right hander we've produced. Reminds me a little of ash when he was on a rampage.

He's horrible at the start of an innings though. Far too edgy and unsettled. Hopefully he's got a very long career ahead of him because he's absolute class once he's set.

I don't think he has any major footwork problem as being claimed here by few. In fact, he has excellent footwork and got all the shots in the book. His problem is shot selection. Hopefully he will be able to fix it as soon as possible.

Definitely, the opener to go to in case Imrul/Tamim gets injured, but he's definitely one for the long term.

Ashraful has changed a lot after his ban. Back in the day he used to be the most technically gifted player in the country and that gave him some kind of arrogance to try anything. Nowadays even though Liton is quite talented, there are plenty of players similar to him in the domestic structure. Also, smashing the ball around works against inferior bowlers or short boundaries (domestic cricket has a lot of those) but if you don't have a good defence or the ability to driving the ball to wherever you want, you will not do well in international cricket.
