What do you do when you are bored?
Nah! Nothing to post in BC, all the threads are old and nothing new. No cricket to watch, and some say without cricket life is loveless. You go to your Facebook, you find the same wall that you are fed up with. You go to your television, nothing new and exciting to attract you. Then you go to your parents and see they are doing or talking something about that you don't like.
Then you find some other ways to get rid off your boredom, Internet - your cyber world, Youtube, googly Google and your emails and then your basketball. Nothing is working for you. You are really bored.
What do you do then? Please share your thoughts.

Couldn't agree more. You need lots of spare time to get bored!! It may be a bit generalisation, but boredom is not something which I often encounter.

I generally read. Or, if I am in the mood, I try some leg-pulling stunts on my teenage daughter. (She gets very nervous if she senses that I am bored.)

I browse the net aimlessly, particularly YouTube and Wikipedia, and/or listen to podcasts and music.
Though, more than being bored, I feel that I'm easily distracted - as if I have a mild case of ADHD. I've tried to be more productive with my time on the internet by writing blogs, stories, articles, etc. but I somehow always find myself on something random like a funny cat video or a wikipedia article on 'the 2012 phenomenon'.

When I'm bored I play indoor cricket with my brother and break one or two show pieces once in a while

These responses are coming from Researchers. people who dedicated their lives to lifelong learning, they have a passion for Learning, of course they will not get bored that easily. SubhanAllah, in the age of information, where information is just a click away, there is virtually no end to learning.People who have a passion for wasting time easily get bored, I know from experience

Very matured response. But this thread is for everyone - professionals, non-professionals, researchers, non-researchers, students and general people. And we know everyone has different way of thinking based on their mental filters - level of education, work, genetical and academic background, culture, assets, social status/ego, prejudice, flexibity, religion/cults, external environment, personal/life events, etc. So the responses should be diverse.
Just after the invention of the internet, there was a forecast by the healthservice providers that information will be so handy to people and it will bring so much diversity that human life will be more enjoyable, less boring, in turn, there will be less suicide.
In reality, the opposite happened to this human race, suicide rate has gone up, not necessarily for the internet, but the glamor/charsima of the internet could not reduce our boredom in average.
Yes, researchers have no time in their life but unfortunately they are less than one percent of this human race.
And most importantly, we, the buman beings are here because Eve was bored when she had everything in The Eden Garden. Because of the boredom, she ate the forbidden fruit and we are paying for it in this dampen world.
