Default BanglaCricket Domestic Bowler of the Year

This was a surprising season for the bowlers and the usual stalwarts did not dominate the stats.

Shahzada. Good bowler in the Rasel-mould.

Same issues as Domestic batsmen. Sajidul by far. He had performed several notches above the mentioned ones.

Sajidul was out of the scenario in early part of the 2007. We took both NCL 2006-07 and NCL 2007-08 into account.

Sajidul will be definitely a big contender for 2008 award.

In my opinion domestic cricket awards (batting and bowling) should be 06-07, 07-08 and so on. Not 2006, 2007, 2008. Take it as a feedback. What if another Sajidul comes by in 2008-09? Going by the calendar where the season is spit in between two years only gives wrong impression. Like Alok winning some awards and got out performed by others.

We should go by the dates that BCB instills for domestic season.

Not a bad suggestion but that makes the whole award process complicated. We are declaring it as BanglaCricket Awards 2007 (which will be an annual award), and a couple of awards with the tag 2006-07 doesn't really make sense.

From next year we will only consider the matches played in that calendar year, that will make our job a bit difficult as we have to filter the domestic stats manually, but that will make the process more rational.

Shahzada. Used to see his name besides Mashrafee, Shahdat as the future fast bowlers of Bangladesh. The latter two made it, but where is the former one.
