BDFlag Bangladesh A vs South Africa A : four day FC games

South Africa A team arrives in Bangladesh arrives in Dhaka on 20th april to play two 4-day First class matches against Bangladesh A.

FIXTURES

22-25 april : 1st FC match against Bangladesh A, SNBS, mirpur, Dhaka

28may-1may: 2nd FC match against Bangladesh A, SNBS, mirpur, Dhaka

* according to cricket archive and PA, cricinfo shows games start oneday later

Bangladesh A squad: Zunaed Siddique (Captain), Shamsur Rahman (Vice Captain), Shahriar Nafees Ahmed, Mehrab Hossain Jr., Forhad Hossain, Faysal Hossain, Roqibul Hasan, Nazim Uddin, Sahagir Hossain (WK.), Enamul Haque Jr., Nur Hossain, Kazi Shahadat Hossain, Mahbubul Alam, Sk. Robiul Islam
STAND BY:
Talha Zubaer, Marshal Ayub, Nabil Samad Chowdhury, Nazmul Hossain

South Africa A squad for 4 day FC games: Thami Tsolekile (captain), Dean Elgar, Quinton Friend, Paul Harris, Heino Kuhn, Ethy Mbhalati, Alviro Petersen, Vernon Philander, Rilee Rossouw, Thandi Tshabalala, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Johannes van der Wath, Jonathan Vandiar, Stiaan van Zyl.

Quote:
The South African A squad is the youngest that has probably ever been fielded particularly in the batting department but is an accurate reflection of form both in the SuperSport Series and the MTN40 this season. Players promoted to this level for the first time include Colin Ingram, Stiaan van Zyl, David Miller, Rilee Rossouw and Jonathan Vandiar. The latter two are in their first season out of the under-19 ranks while Miller is only one year older. Van Zyl and Rossouw both played for the emerging squad last winter as Vandiar would have done but for injury.

There is also a change in the leadership of this group with Thami Tsolekile being recognised for his inspirational captaincy that took the Lions to the final of the Standard Bank Domestic Pro20.
South Afirca A will later play an ODI Tri-series with Bangladesh A and West Indies A.

My choice for the A Team, 4 -dayers.

Batting order:

1. Nafees Iqbal
2. Hannan Sarkar
3. Junaid Siddiqui Imroze
4. Shahriar Nafees
5. Alok Kapali
6. Shubhagoto Hom Das Chowdhury
7. Shahin Hossain (WK)
8. Shubhashish Roy
9. Enamul Haque
10. Talha Jubair
11. Shaju Datta

Bench: Uttam Sarkar, Nasir Hossain, Sabbir Rahman Rumman and Suman Saha.

Extra WK: Dhiman Ghosh. He'd be my first choice for List A matches. Mithun my first choice for T20s. BOTH need to work on their lateral footwork and not rely as much on range and natural athleticism alone. Dhiman used to be better before ICL. Mithun has horrible lapses he needs to work on. Pavel = S-H-I-T-E!

Note: No use wasting time on Hudmahs like Faisal Hossain Freakens, Tushar Imran and Nazimddin no matter what they do against crappy NCL bowlers bowling on dead pitches. NO emotionally weak, delusional drama queens like the ROK either. Fudge them all!

I think we should allow some of our national players (Ashraful or Mashrafe) to play with those A teams. But they will be busy with T20 WC. Otherwise they will learn something.

i think saqlain sajib deserves a spot.

i'd want to put Jahirul Islam in as well since he's pretty much got the nod for the next few tests we play. not sure about alok's usefulness in the side. but i do like the talha and shubashish picks.

Thats a strong SA squad. Few players already played for NT team.

Anyway, this should be the the XI to face SA.

1) Shamsur Rahman Shuvo (this should be his last chance in the A team. Failed miserably in the past)
2) S.Nafis
3) Junaid Siddiki
4) Shuvogoto Hom (MUST)
5) Marshall Ayub (He should be in the A team no matter what-had performed well for Academy and A team last yr). Should be captain too.
6) Mehrab jr
7) Anamul Haque bijoy (he can\\\'t do worse than Mithun and dhiman. plus he is the one who have lot of potential to be the best wk-batsman in the country)
8) Talha Zubair (MUST)
9)Shuvashis Roy (MUST)
10) M. Alam Robin
11) Enamul Haque jr

Reserve: Saqlain shajib, Alok kapali( he is only T20 and ODI player; i doubt he will be useful in longer version), Uttam Shakar, Shahdat Hossain, Sabbir Rahman rumann and Farhad Hossain.

And please no more N.Iqbal. He sucks in batting. Afraid to open the innings(batted at no 6/7 in NCL FC)And tried to become a seam allrounder

Shala vitu!

I like this squad. Especially Mehrab's inclusion. Would like to see Rajin captaining as well in the 4 day game. He may replace Shuvo.

have to have shuvagoto, sabbir, subashis, nasir, would be good to see mahmudul and maybe nur and alauddin. shuvo and jahurul should be there if not with the national team, keeper should be anamul, mithun or dhiman. marshall ayub, shamsur, farhad hossain should be in contention. sajidul, talha, alam, robiul, dolar, ziaur should be fill the rest of the pacer slots. rony, uttam and nazmus should be considered for the opener spots. saqlain deserves a spot as well. i don't want to see any national team regulars and i don't want any ex-national teamers until they've fixed their games right up.

i dont think raqibul will be eligible.

junaid and enamul jr is surely going to play in the tests agaisnt England. so i think giving them a rest will be better. and give some other batsman a chance in stead of junaid and let mosharraf rubel play in place of enamul

Alok is not gonna play 4 day match. He is not that fit. Zunaed should have been included for his pratice before England tour.

Junaid and Enamul probably going to play against England in tests thats true. Its not a bad idea to give chances for other players to play othe then these two but my concern is both of them need some FC match practice so IMO it will be good idea for them to have some match practice.

I'd like to see the performers in the squad, notwithstanding any comment on technique:

1. Uttam Sarkar
2. Junaed Siddique ( needs to get form back for England tests)
3. Farhad Hossain
4. Faisal Hossain
5. Shuvogoto Hom
6. Alok Kapali
7. Dhiman Ghosh ( need a good wk for national team in tests)
8. Shuvashish Roy ( strong performer in NCL, fast medium)
9. Mahbubul Alam ( Alam needs to be looked for England)
10. Talha Jubair
11.Saqlain Sajib

My objective as selector would be to find one or two pacers for the England tour, see if Dhiman is still good for Test wicketkeeper, and see if the performers in batting at NCL have what it takes to replace any flops for the test team in the next two years.
