I didnt like Baraka and it was from my personal experience as I and some of the people I was with had issues later. I wouldnt have said anything unless Shingara shared his experience.

I really want to try Feast as it was highly recommended by my Aunt who visited it when she was in town.

TBH because we have relatives who are great cooks I dont need to eat genuine Bangladeshi food in restaurants. Also restoras are located in East London where parking is a pain in the backside and far from me.

In the case of biryanis the pakistanis do a decent job as they are quite spicy and the meat ratio is great. But I would go for Dhaka Biryani any day due to nostalgic purposes, as they even give the EGG! Pakistanis get really confused when I tell them that.

When we eat outside as a family we look for Halal cuisine from different countries as IMO Bangladeshi food is best at home
Let's arrange a get together and we can enjoy some good food.

My experience with Baraka was very good, but that was about 2 years ago. Not sure if things have changed drastically.

Went to Feast and Mishti three times in the last 2 months, and the food is indeed very good. Their £10 lunch buffet is excellent value for money.

Alot of these EE tend to be racist towards people with dark skin and they always look miserable.
Thanks, that helps but I would also like to know the view point of the original poster.

If they are racist towards us, why are they working in a deshi restaurant then?

This is one of the places you recommended:

They are Bangladeshi sromiks who went to Italy from Bangladesh and after many years got Italian citizenship. Many have come over recently due to us being in the EU. They are employed as cheap labour like East Europeans and instead of getting paid hourly, they are secretly paid by the day. On paper, they are being shown as working part-time when they are made to work full-time or even longer hours. Think of this as tax avoidance / forced labour.

i.e. I am against places who employ slave labour and profit off it

Alot of the BD people who work in restoaras actually show a salary slip to the Inland Revenue and take the rest in cash so they can claim benefits. Eid bonus tends to be in Cash.

The previous occupants were known as 'Curry in a Hurry' . I used to dine there with a mate regularly and we stayed there for hours whenever we went. At £7 for a buffet, it was a steal. I think we were the reason Curry in a Hurry finally closed down

It reminded me of a story of kahdok petuk friend .

In Bangladesh in the early 00s there used to be a Chinese restora in Banani (near Roshona Billash) which had a nice buffet for 100 taka. The ambience was great and they had some swings for chairs! For some reason it was always quiet.

So first time my mate and his bro went they finished all the protein. When they came in the next day they are not allowed to eat there.

After some days they went again and they were told there is limit for how much protein could be consumed

Best buffet I have been to in the UK is the one held by wedding caterer sapnas. It was a special Iftar thing they would do for £15 exclusively for their clients.

They own the venue and have their own praying areas.

Fresh nehari, mango lassi, fresh biryani and even had quail roast. Sadly they have stopped doing that .

15 pound for a meal seems expensive, most Boston buffet are not even 15 $ while it is one of the most expensive cities.

Anyway all those food talk made me real hungry, lunch break for now. Yesterday had Indian Buffet near MIT Kendall Square. Will go easy on today to our cafeteria. Adios.

You are entitled to have an opinion. I have no problem with that. However, the way you sneer at peoples’ comments and talk about people working at restaurants is not nice.

I was giving some suggestions to iDumb based on personal experience.

I would really appreciate if you don’t quote me or respond to my comments.

You can surely make comments or respond to other posters within the forum rules. Thanks.

In UK to eat at a semi decent restaurant is like £8-£10 and thats just main course and a soft drink.

The spread for £15 was quite large. The quality was great which you wont get in many places. Anywhere else that would have been £25 without any drinks. Also this was exclusive for customers.

Otherwise it would be comparing Buffet at Radison with Xindian
