yes this is a really joke. because yes football was once popular. but things have changed. football is no where near to cricket in popularity. and there is no reason it should be. just for some stupid football fans we lost the dhaka stadium. poor footballers. ki ar kora. khela pare na. akhon stadium a jeye ghash katuk.

i dont think our cricketers are any much better compared to the footballers that you should let one group down not the other....
unlike cricketers, the footballers dont have that much exposure to international matches for them to improve....which our cricketers couldnt do after God knows how many matches.... |

Football is the No. 1 game in the World. Every country in the world play football somehow. Cricket is played only in few countries. Most countries don't know cricket, they dont care and want to kick this game out to hell.
BUT IN BANGLDESH CRICKET IS THE NO.1 GAME WITHOUT ANY DOUBT AND ANY SHOUT.

Cricket has brought more worldwide recognition than football has. Dare to doubt ? Cricket has probably brought more recognition for Bangladesh than ANYTHING else of this county. I mean, not many people of this generation and on will recognize our history (i.e. 1952, 1971..), instead, they will know Bangladesh for cricket rather.

I aint sayin nuttin about this, except the fact that football was most popular in the 90's until bangladesh did well in cricket world cup 99, then get test status in 2000 as cricket got more popular, then there was a run of very poor form and football became popular once again and only for recent success in the cricket (odi victories over india and australia, and odi & test success over zimb) could now just mean that cricket is now more popular. but who knows, it only takes a run of poor form by the cricket team to change that!  |
