Why three day match? Two-day match would be enough for us.

Strange how there's no Asian names in this year's England U/19s side, they've consistently had at least a couple for a number of years now. I'd have thought the Deshi diaspora would make up a fairly significant proportion of their cricket playing population

Either way we have loads of experience in this A team compared not only to this English side, but also compared to our previous A teams. Anything less than a win should be viewed as a blip although after our performances against Ireland, this might be one of the rare instances of a team losing a 3-day match by an innings.

Start delayed! Very bad weather today all around the UK, cold, windy and bad rain.

Alok could have GREATLY gained from this, and the A Team from Alok. Idiot selectors are still doing their best to stay stuck on stupid !!! ...

Exactly. Alok should be on this tour -playing and getting his confidence back. It just shows how little the BCB cares or knows about long-term planning!!!

Isn't Alok supposed to join up with squad on a later date? Or should've he just gone to Loughborough straight from Karachi and played this match?

Look Dada Bhai, BD national team at best would be on par as a B or a C side from any other Test playing countries (- Zim). Therfore, I think it makes good sense that BD national players play as much FC cricket as they can against quality FC sides in foreign conditions. This is one of the ways our current Test players can become more competitive when playing Test matches.

We have not reached that level as yet when we can afford to send a genuine A team on tour playing the A team of other Test playing sides. Our National team IS our A side- if you follow my drift.

All of those players need to gain experience at a level one step down from Test cricket the way players from other countries do in their first class competitions.

Unfortunately our own national league represents a drop in standard that is closer to 8 or 9 steps down from test cricket and the only way to give these players that sort of experience is on tours like this.

I'm all for the selection of these players in A team tours. I don't know who instigated this change in selectional policy, but it's years overdue.

If it rains through to tea tomorrow, we'll probably avoid an innings defeat

Maybe Zunaed should buy some candy for the English boys and ask them nicely not to thrash his team.
