Lightbulb Nazmul Hossain Thread

Over the years, Nazmul has performed well whenever given a chance. Our previous bowling coach though him to be our best pacer. But, the selectors, for whatever reason, never picks him unless they are forced to. This madness has to stop!

What can we do to raise awareness of the selection board's repeated blunders in this regard? I'm thinking of using FB, twitter, and letters to the editor in several BD newspapers. If you feel the same way about Nazmul, please act. We need to improve our pathetic bowling attack and one element is available right now.

I don't know if our selectors are blind or not....if they are not blind then they do not watch BD games...

After Naz bowled wonderfully against WI, someone in the team said he is very lucky, whenever he plays the team wins...I say he is not lucky, he bowls good and gives us early breakthroughs and doesn't give away too many runs which makes it easier for us to win games

Whatever is going on with the Nazmul case is just madness....He should be playing all the Odis and t20's...he was the best pacer in the last test too...

Nazmul is our McGrath who can consistently pitch the ball exactly same spot over time. He may not be quick, but has control over his line and length of delivery. He is an intelligent bowler too, reads batsmen well, a handy bowler in modern time.

Rubel and Nazmul should be our frontier- one is quick and pacey, the other is intelligent bowler.

I still can't get the word 'Official'. Why has it always be 'Official' ? What does it mean in BC anyway ? Does it mean, no other is allowed to open any other thread related to that player ? That means the thread owner owns him ? Me so confused.

I'm with you guys. It's too much. Nazmul has always been undermined. Whereas he has always been highly praised by Ian Pont. Let's just hope we will see Nazmul playing matches from now on & also in Tests.

Nazmul ke leliye deya hok
nah,polata bhaloi khele.
Rubel & NAzmul should play regularly, Naz should be given a long run in national team.

Just like Shak you cannot stop a good player stop playing. He will break in to the team somehow. Naz showed everyone what he can do.

Its going to be difficult for the selector to ignore him from now anyway. Even if they try they cannot stop him, until his performance is really poor.

In Dhaka, we should be going with three pacers. Nazmul opening the bowling with Shafiul and then Rubel coming on first change or possibly even later. Nazmul has looked very impressive recently. He has improved a lot. I believe he can fill the void left by Mash. He is the new leader of our pace attack in my eyes. If Mashrafe can return then we will have 4 good LOI pacers to pick from who each have their own speciality.
Mashrafe: Ability to cut the new ball + his experience
Nazmul: Accuracy and that subtle late movement he can generate
Shafiul: Outswing + Death bowling abilities
Rubel: Pace + Ability to reverse + death bowling

Shalish mani, kintu talgaach-ta amar. If the selectors take this stance, there is nothing you can do about it. I hope that is not the case and he has finally broken into the team.

CI quote I just saw today:
"If I play my third Test after seven years then my career's over"
Nazmul Hossain, who made a Test comeback for the first time since 2004, hopes he wouldn't have to wait an eternity for his next Test

I am against Nazmul in tests not because of his bowling ability but because of his fragile health...I don't think Bangladesh can afford to have another frontline pacer injured at this stage.

also, During Siddon's era he was not ignored i believed he was tried against NZ ODI 1 but he got injured ever since then he was not tried since until after recently.

but then again i think he is ok in tests as long as there are two other pacers to back him up and he doesn't bowl in long spells then he should be fine in Tests too...

Is Nazmul as injury prone as Mash? If he is injury prone, his workload should be monitored, but he should be in the test and ODI teams. He clearly is our best pacer, despite not being the fastest.

Let me correct you.

Nazmul played on October 5th in the first NZ ODI and got injured last ball of the match trying to take a catch off his own bowling. He was fit again for the 4th ODI... but was never to be selected again under Jamie.

I think you meant 3rd ODI. It was a 3 ODI series. Not being asked to bowl in the subsequent ODIs was probably because he gave away runs at 8.66 rpo from 9 overs with one maiden though. But then again, Shakib went for 6.88.

Bro,
I think you are mixing up the two different series.
Ian is talking about the New Zealand tour in 2010 (you know, famous for something ) in which Nazmul Hossain got injured of the last delivery of the 1st ODI.

So Nazmul played twice under Siddons -
once in NZ ODI Number 2949http://www.espncricinfo.com/nzvbdesh...ch/423783.html

and once in BD against NZ ODI Number 3051http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...ch/476596.html
