No, I have never ever tried Hilsa fish before. I don't know how strong its flavor is. From what I have read, I think it is the go to fish for bengalis.

Thanks, I can handle fishes with lots of bones. I always eat with my bare hands...so, nothing goes unchecked.

We have a similar fish with a million tiny bones. ... we call it Houri

Thanks. So the best way to go is frying chunks of the fish, the adding them to a curry later on.
Any BD restaurant in J. Heights such as HaatBazaar or Jamaica such as Sagar should have one of those dishes available for a day.

Cool, I might take a visit up there next week. I'll post pictures and write a detailed report if time is on my side

Yesterday, my wife substituted daal with self rising flour in Piaju. She added a little cornstarch and egg. Well we had these amazing crispy fluffy moida-Piaju, Besh shashthoban piaju. lol.

Was in Athens recently and happily surprised to see some similar dishes to Bangladesh.

They do beguni and also eat suji halwa.

Other stuff I enjoyed:
Greek salad is amazing due to the quality of ingredients.

Souvlakis and Gyros are nice and was lucky to find one that serves halal.

The greek coffee is roasty and nice. Didnt like the cold versions of frappe and freddo.

Had Mixed grill at a Turkish and it was amazing. I find their grills less greasier than Lebanese mixed grills. Also I find in london, Turkish restaurants make their own bread while Lebanese give supermarket made.

Turkish falafels are poor though and the Lebanese make it much better. Also the salad too

During my stop over at Doha the hotel had a buffet, ate some gracious delicious kebabs falls under the category of Afghan Kebabs along with some other quality treats. Interestingly not sure whether mid-travel fatigue or already jet lagged, those Bakhlava type sweets tasted way better.

The Kunafe I have at the Turkish restaurant I go to his heavenly. The Kunafe itself is warm and the scoop of ice cream is cold. 6 of us share one as after a heavy meal very difficult to finish it off alone.

Thats the same with most foreign cuisine in London no? We dont get proper Bangladeshi or Indian food in most restaurants for example.

I think only Pakistani and Thai are the most authentic from what I hear from their country people.
